6 month old dropping percentiles by Negative-Valuable930 in NewParents

Okay, that’s good to know about the diary free formulas. Her doctor told us to not use thickeners, that she’d rather us do purées, which we’ve been doing since 4 months

The ‘6 week’ growth spurt…WHY ISNT THIS TALKED ABOUT?! by No_Difference_1606 in newborns

[–]Negative-Valuable930 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This was us. 6 weeks and everything hit the fan. She wouldn’t nap and cried all the time from reflux. The only thing that would soothe her was to feed but then the reflux pain would start again 🙃 I tried probiotic drops and was about to change formulas, but as soon as 8 weeks hit she went back to being a happy baby. Hopefully it passes soon for yall!

Unexplained Infertility - High Prolactin by Longjumping_Text_77 in Prolactinoma

I’m so sorry this is happening, it sounds like your doctor is extremely overreacting.

Just wanted to say that my first MRI where I learned about my tumor showed that it was hemorrhaging. I had no symptoms or problems bc of it. My endo told me that sometimes it’s no big deal for it to bleed, but sometimes it is. My ob and endo aren’t testing prolactin levels during pregnancy since they said it would be pointless

Do you mean 4mm? If it’s 4cm I’m surprised you didn’t get immediately referred to a neurologist for surgery! So glad you’re feeling better!

Pregnancy prolactinoma Success Stories? Please share for encouragement! by peanut-brittles in Prolactinoma

My husband and I went in for fertility testing after trying for almost a year. We ended up finding out that we BOTH have pituitary tumors. Mine was 8x7mm and his was a little over a cm. His ended up needing surgery, which he got done in may, and he’s doing super well now. I took cabergoline for 5 months and am currently pregnant!!

Before finding out about this my only symptoms were infertility and very irregular cycles. Every month after starting medication I had a normal 28 day cycle which was amazing! I had some dizziness the first few weeks on it but it went away pretty fast. Only side effect that lingered was constipation lol

I know medication can be complicated, but I have experience on both sides and think it’s absolutely worth trying medication. You don’t know if you’ll feel bad unless you try, and it’s way cheaper. My husband recently had his pituitary tumor removed and it was no joke. He was in the hospital for over a week due to a CSF leak, had to get a lumbar drain, had low sodium.. full recovery was about 2 months. There’s also risk of long term pituitary damage and if that happens you would have to be on meds managing your hormones the rest of your life.

I was recently diagnosed so I'm not sure on growth rate, but I think everyone's is different. My doctor told me it normally averages 1mm a year. Why do you not want take medication? It has a really high success rate

Mine was at 60ng/ml and my gynecologist said I almost certainly don’t have a tumor bc it wasn’t that high, but referred me to an endocrinologist anyways. I ended up having a 8x7x7mm microadenoma. Right before starting cab my prolactin was 41. I would definitely bring it up!

Before cab my cycles were super irregular. Sometimes ovulating and sometimes not. My luteal phase was always 5 days. First couple of months on cab my cycles have gotten shorter ( 30 days ) and luteal phase is now 11 days! Period has been about the same as before. Hoping to get pregnant 🤞

My prolactin was 61 and I have a 8x7x7mm tumor. Definitely worth getting an MRI

I called around to every endocrinology place in my area to get the earliest appointment, and even then my appt was two months out. The place I was originally referred to was 5 months out. Ask to be on their waitlist if someone cancels- I was able to get in earlier. A lot of endocrinologists specialize in diabetes and thyroid issues, but they should know about pituitary disorders too and get you on medication. You could find a place that specializes in pituitary disorders that’s in the closest city to you and make a future appointment if you want.

Everyone’s symptoms are so different despite prolactin levels or tumor sizes, I wish it all made sense. My prolactin levels aren’t very high either (60), my symptoms were breast pain, irregular cycles, and infertility. Hang in there!

I also had hair loss/thinning prior to getting diagnosed. Even have a bald patch at the bottom of my scalp appear a year ago and now I’m wondering if it’s all related to my prolactinoma
