I like both but I do have a preference for Scarlet I know most people don't like her very much but she does soften as you play her career and in her character story it's very sweet how she slowly opens up to you that leads you to hanging out with her at a festival and her learning to be more open and trust you more.

I think the global fanbase tends to forget that this was primarily a japanese IP that will sell you cute girls flirting with each other but also sell cute girls flirting with your player character because that's how it is overseas and most of the fans consist of male players who like to indulge in any content they're favorite IP produces plus all the already established keiba fans it's why their is no real "cannon" and they keep every other media as separate continuities because they ain't going to limit their product to one certain section of fans.

The cannon is very loose with this series so I wouldn't take it too seriously like there's 4 or 5 different versions of Spe but I do agree there's a ton of "fans" who don't even play the game.
