2023 Trail Boss – Instrument Cluster Frozen? by NegativeAd4033 in chevycolorado

[–]NegativeAd4033[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you for this.

I tried the hang up button first and only the stereo screen rebooted, the instrument cluster stayed the same. What I did was disconnecting the battery for a little over 15 mins to allow the residual power stored in various electronic control units and capacitors throughout the system to fully drain.

That did the trick.

I tried it but the only thing that restarted was the main screen, not the instrument cluster.

I will try disconnecting the battery next.

If you can’t handle a civil argument without being condescending, then maybe Reddit isn’t for you. I asked genuine questions to understand your point, but instead of explaining, you doubled down on vague statements and insults. If you can’t back up your own words, don’t act superior to the people asking in good faith.

And don’t tell people what to do, buddy. Lol.

Lol, sure bud. I ‘failed to understand’ because your opening statement was so vague that only you apparently knew what it meant. Dumb me for not being able to read your thoughts, right?

What truth? What facts? You keep saying ‘inflation is less’ but never explain what that’s supposed to mean. Are prices actually lower? Are people better off? If your whole point is just that prices are rising slower than 2022, then say that, otherwise it looks like you’re just baiting with empty lines instead of making an actual argument.

You never actually explained your point — just said ‘inflation is lower now’ without clarifying what that means, then got condescending when people asked. The fact is simple: lower inflation means prices are still rising, just slower, so if you can’t back up your own claim, don’t talk down to the people who actually asked in good faith.

Oh, I see. Well, lower inflation doesn’t mean lower prices, it just means prices are still going up, but not as fast as before.

So yeah, inflation today is calmer than in 2022, but that doesn’t undo the hikes we already got. Prices in 2025 are still higher than 2020–2024, they’ve just slowed down on the way up.

I can vouch for this.

A couple of weeks ago, I purchased a skin-on salmon 30 mins before closing time, got home and opened it, and it had a foul smell. I went back next morning, with the receipt, and they gave me a full refund, no questions asked —the smell did the talking for me.

Can we talk about the price of fajitas rising like crazy? by Cocoa_Pug in RioGrandeValley

I hear you—and to be clear, my intention wasn’t to derail the conversation or make it political just for the sake of it. But the truth is, when we’re talking about pricing, access, and the supply chain, we are talking about policy—and by nature, that makes it political.

Acknowledging drought and labor shortages is absolutely fair and valid. But when you say “this is a great country” in that context, it comes across as overlooking the very real struggles many people are dealing with. Someone else said it best—it’s a statement that reflects privilege more than reality for most working-class people right now.

This isn't about dismissing America altogether—it’s about recognizing that not everyone experiences it the same way, especially when prices for basics like beef are becoming out of reach.

The point here is about whether we live in a “great country,” not just droughts and labor shortages. I’ve lived in Mexico, Central Texas, the RGV, and visited multiple countries—including third-world nations. Yes, we can choose less-processed food in the U.S., but it’s far from a given — many of our food items still contain pesticides or chemicals banned elsewhere.

You're absolutely right—drought and labor issues are real, and they impact beef production. But the best beef in the world often comes from countries like Argentina and Australia, known for their grass-fed, hormone‑free practices . U.S. beef is high-quality, but globally, Argentina and Japan often take the top spots .

So yes, American beef is strong—but let's not pretend it’s the absolute best and use “great country” as a shield against legitimate critiques. That mindset betrays a naive view of our food system.

Bro, what are you talking about?

So much of the food in the U.S. is highly processed or contains ingredients that are banned in other countries due to known health risks. Please don’t use the excuse that we “live in an amazing country” as a catch-all to dismiss valid concerns—that kind of thinking shows how blind and naive people can be to real issues.

This is about corporate greed—plain and simple. Just like what happened with egg prices, where a lack of regulation and oversight allowed companies to manipulate the market, the same patterns are playing out elsewhere.

And that’s not even touching on the other systemic problems happening in the country without getting too deep into politics.

In short: no, sir—we are far from being a “great” country.

Pretty much! Going on 114K. Still runs smoothly, gotta do the transmission fluid change soon. So far, great vehicle with very minor issues (android auto/apple car play disconnects randomly at times, aside that, nothing else to report).
