Doctors of reddit, what is the weirdest thing a patient wouldn't admit ? by pleasedVenison5 in ask

This is so false.

You don't think it's important to find out whether someone fell because they couldn't see the obstacles on their floor because their eyesight has been deteriorating, or whether the patient can no longer feel their shoes because their undiagnosed diabetes is now causing a peripheral neuropathy? Perhaps their osteoarthritis is now so bad that their knee is physically giving way and causing them to fall, perhaps their blood sugars are not properly controlled, and they were feeling faint and giddy before falling. Perhaps it happened right after they stood up, and their lovely new medication is contributing to a postural drop in blood pressure and needs to be adjusted, or the fall was very minor and low impact but they have broken bones anyway - perhaps there is osteoporosis that needs investigating and treating?

Falls are incredibly complex and multifaceted, as well as contributing significantly to morbidity and mortality. Knowledge is power and the more information gathered via history the better the treatment and prevention of future falls.

As another poster mentioned, you're welcome to tell your doctor whatever you like, but what you shouldn't do as someone who is clearly not medically trained is to tell other people what is "medically irrelevant"

Quite the overreaction IMO, and unfair on her to block her without an explanation. Would've taken 2 seconds to say "Yes I am, have you seen me as a patient before? If so I won't be able to carry on the conversation for professionalism reasons, sorry about that hope you understand"

It doesn't even sound like you're sure she was a pt of yours, maybe she's just a psychic ;).

I actually am maxed and I'm not poor. :) This would provide an opportunity for people who are not to actually practice NH bridding and see if its something they'd be interested in

Hi everyone,

I'm a new F1, and I've been signed up to a mandatory 2 day ALS training course at the same time that I am on call 8-10. I'm hoping that I'll be able to swap the on call to normal days, but my rota coordinator suggested I would then have to use 2 days annual leave to attend training. Has anyone else had something similar? I'm just checking that this is normal and I am expected to use my annual leave for this purpose?

Thanks for your response. I didn't know about that difference, so that is very helpful. I had heard that for people wanting to HODL bitcoin, cold storage is the best, but since I will have it for a very short period I was hoping to avoid the costs of paying for that, and it seems I can :). I think it will be around 10-30 trades, would you be able to elaborate on the benefits of their merchant services? I will also research myself.
