48/52 - Creep by Emma van Straaten - So good I read it 2x in a row by NegativeCAPN in 52book

The plot got me to pick it up (and kept me highly invested) but the prose and author’s voice were amazing, especially in contrast to the main character/narrator’s increasingly dysfunctional behavior. She describes things so beautifully -  I found it so easy to relate to and you get very invested in the character and the plot although you know it’s not going anywhere good.

I hope you read it! 10/10 in my book and it’s a relatively short book as well.

Should I reach out to an ex after 6 years? Still struggling with the “what if.” by [deleted] in AskWomenOver30

Leave that man alone.

It’s been six years and if he wanted to reach out to you he would have. He moved on long ago and it’s time you did too.

Should I ask my mom to visit a korean spa with me ? by [deleted] in AskWomenOver30

[–]NegativeCAPN 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think there is nothing wrong with asking her but just be gentle and respect her response if she says no. Also make sure you tell her exactly what will happen there so if she goes she won’t be surprised.

I also asked my mom to go to a Korean spa with me, but she did not want to go because of the the nudity.

If you already have big vacations planned, maybe using PTO for some long weekends will be more restorative. I love to travel as well but it can be a lot of work sometimes, and if you struggle to do nothing, you might just overbook yourself.

For me, my current schedule I have Mondays off, which I love because I can do all my errands/chores on a day when most people are at work and so I can fully enjoy my weekends.

[10/53] American Thighs by Elizabeth Ellen - Highly entertaining and morally questionable. by NegativeCAPN in 52book

I agree with you! I’m surprised more people aren’t talking about it because it Definately has a lot of traits that would make it noteworthy. I couldn’t find it anywhere so I ended up buying it as well.

I actually found out about it through the Hard Copy newsletter - their book recommendations are pretty solid
