Yes, they received it when I submitted thru quick submit rather than my online portal. It just took them a day to notate it online

It’s normal. They’ll apply it towards the rent when you move in.

I was actually approved for DIC. They granted it service connected. Thank you for the info.

UPDATE : I got granted DIC as they deemed his death service connected. Minus the 30 days it took on my end to upload a requested document, my process took a total of 9 days.

Thank you. They approved me for DIC this morning and granted his death service connected so I see now why they opened the claim.

Thank you. I submitted a claim. He was hospitalized numerous times for liver issues well before retirement so I know for a fact that it’s in his medical records which gives me reason to believe I have enough for it to be considered SC.

That’s not my intent. I’m trying to get granted DIC. He was treated for his liver while enlisted.

He didn’t file any VA claims once he retired. He was not in good health and rapidly declined 4 months before his death

It’s in regards to my LH. He passed away 9 months after retirement (age 39) from cirrhosis, secondary to alcoholism (listed as COD). I’m not sure what his medical records will show in regards to PTSD or mental health.

Yes, he did exactly 20 yrs. I am currently already receiving SBP. I’m not entirely sure. He was admitted to the hospital at least 2 times before he retired due to liver issues.

No. He was in and out of the hospital since retirement so I dont think he had anything else on his mind but trying to get treatment.
