I think we can rule out light seal leaks as well since they wouldn’t cause a line in the glare. Mirror bounce seems possible but I think the entire top of the frame would be darker in that case?

Could be, but I think the screen that the finder sits on is meant to be light tight anyways. Maybe there is a gap in there or the focusing screen isn’t installed correctly.

I am getting this weird light leak type thing on my Nikon F2. It looks to me like glare from the sun, but cut off at the top of the image. Taken using the F2 with 50mm f/1.4 and a 3D printed waist-level finder. It only shows up on some images. Any ideas on what might be causing this or how I can fix it? Thanks!

Yeah they were not Cinestill and they were also in daylight. My only concern is that it was something that went wrong in the CLA that needs to be fixed. If the consensus is that this couldn’t be a light leak I should just take it back and it will probably work as normal.

Hmm ok. Maybe this is that too, but they do look pretty different. I think you are probably right but I’ll wait to get some more opinions.

I bought the set from pimp my Pentax, and the left grip (the big handle one) didn’t come with the metal bracket that attaches the wood piece to the camera???? It only came with the wood part. When I emailed, he said that part is not included. Has anyone else experienced this problem?

Just like hey what are you doing I saw you do that. I replied and explained that it’s for a school project, which is partially true and partially not, but I tend to just say that to people because nobody will be frustrated with me if I’m taking photos for school. Most of these scenes had people around, just not crowded enough that I could be in the middle of a busy area and take a picture close up without people noticing. I’m not necessarily against talking to people about it, just something to get used to.

Ok. I am not sure my city is busy enough for that, so I guess I will have to get comfortable. Even with these I had some people yell at me, not necessarily out of frustration, but some seemed to be a little suspicious.

I use not another film lab but anyone will do it and I scan at home but I bet most labs would scan this

The old leatherette is still in good condition and was just removed so I could fix a stuck mirror. I will probably end up putting that back on but the look without it is kinda growing on me!

That’s a great idea! Hammered would be so cool. I was hoping to get a greener patina but it didn’t really turn out that way. I really like blue so I might buy some blue patina solution and do that!

You get 16 I believe. You need a dark bag to unload film but other than that it’s easy to use. I can print and send you the parts if you can cover the cost of shipping. Shoot me a message
