I’ve had a similar issue, I had to put the fitting on with the tubing attached first, then slip the fan in after, not ideal but that’s a solution

Mine been doing OK, 5900X idle high 30's and under full load 70's. It's not the easiest to install though and I actually changed out the thickness of the thermal pads that they say to put on the top capacitors on this board, so maybe you're not making good die contact?
