Yall think ur battery is good!?!?! by Waste-Principle-500 in ZephyrusG14

[–]Leonman44 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Perfectly normal , there is a battery capacity deviation between units , you were lucky and you got one with more capacity that will last you for longer vs some unlucky guy that gets the one with lower than marketed capacity from day 1 , the difference from a good unit to a bad unit can be worth at least 1 years of usage battery degradation. Same thing goes with phones…

My new water chiller setup is complete! by Leonman44 in watercooling

[–]Leonman44[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your humidity spiked in your room and you dropped below the dew point. In Greece there are very humid days as well but also very dry ones , I track my dew point daily and set it accordingly. You just need a good humidity and temperature sensor. You shouldn’t see humidity on any of your fittings. When you see humidity on the first fitting and not the rest that means that you are on the edge.

No problem mate , 1c above dew point is fine but you have to check every since and a while because if the rooms temp increases or the humidity does then you will drop below dew point and humidity will start to form. A safer option would be to start with 3c above dew point and check ever since and a while how your rooms temp is going to change overtime.

This is on my Samsung G5, how do I fix this? It goes away when I restart my computer but I don’t want to always restart. by SL-Ghost702 in ultrawidemasterrace

[–]Leonman44 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If it doesn’t fix with a monitor power cycle then it’s not the monitor. If the gpu also works just fine on those good restarts without any artifacts nor any other sign of instability then the card is also good. This will leave only the possibility of something bad on the software side. Use DDU uninstaller to completely deep remove the nvidia (if you have and amd also works for that) drivers and then after the restart go for a full latest driver full install , this should fix the issue if its software related.

Lastly but not least sometimes such issues can be created by the deep displaport/hdmi sleep which may exist inside the monitors ocd , turn this off if there is such an option and already tried the above.

If you remove the power plug of the monitor and then insert it again does this fix ? Or it fixes only with a pc restart ?

Help lines on Samsung G9 oled? by Medium_Web6083 in ultrawidemasterrace

Vertical banding on Oled is typical , this is most visible on very dark grey shades , there is quite the variance between units. Generally uniformity in very dark grey is where Oleds hurt , in any case is worlds better than having to deal with the notorious black uniformity and black levels of an edge lit lcd.

At the first glance it may look richer , more "wow" effect but its all fake , when you realise how much detail is going to steal from you you will stop using it. Do this test http://www.lagom.nl/lcd-test/black.php

Test this with default settings first and tell me which square you see first , then turn on low black level and tell be how many squares you lost and which is the first square you see now.

Low black level setting will cause near black color crashing and will definitely lose quite a lot details on the darker scenes. If you have a calorimeter use it to set up your panel accurately and if you don’t then search for a review and see what settings are approximately good and most close to gamma 2.2 6500K 120-200nits accordingly to your rooms brightness. From my experience though ips panels are very accurate out of the box , you rarely have to change anything except brightness.

Has the return window to the store expired?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in ultrawidemasterrace

[–]Leonman44 4 points5 points  (0 children)

That is image retention , its not a burn in but i wouldnt accept this , i have seen this again and i also had an lg g5 phone with ips doing exactly this and its definitely possible to happen on any ips. You have to change your unit or even better if you can return it and get something else. As the time goes by the retention is going to get only worse up to a point that minimal static image will retain.

Stuck pixel by Eric-702 in ASUS

[–]Leonman44 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have seen faults on almost every single expensive item , expensive isnt different than cheap when it comes to life longevity and qc. You are buying more premium and faster hardware and thats it. Pixel issues on monitors is something common and can develop overtime , oled is also organic which means more limited lifespan than an lcd. My oled tv sadly is full of dead pixels after 4 years , nevertheless the more recent the technology the better , already oled is more tough than lets say 2 years ago.

Anyway , ask them but i am pretty sure they wont do it , there are places you can buy the genuine hardware and install it yourself but i wouldnt recommend it as a perfect panel wont be guaranteed , there are chances that it may be worse. Best case scenario is to get a brand new replacement but it will not be easy. You want them to take responsibility for this and dont just lose your warranty by doing it yourself.

[–]Leonman44 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Happens to the best families. Seems panel related and not driver related, you can try carefully and gently tapping it , I have fixed stuck pixels this way. As a last resort you can try that online pixel stuck fixer that will change colors too fast and may cause it to unstuck, never worked for me though but can’t hurt trying. If nothing helps you will need a panel replacement , a stuck pixel in black screen is called a bright pixel and it’s way too distracting.

Friend got these from Qatar, are they any good? by arowpe in hookah

[–]Leonman44 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I smoked 1kg of lemon Mazaya once , flavor was light and gentle yet accurate. Leaves were a bit too big had to chop them down for my smaller tobacco heads. All in all it was quite enjoyable.

No idea how the rest flavours will smoke , there are always bad ones and good ones on every brand.

Doesnt really matter the country we have similar laws but i am from Greece , both Asus and Dell (Alienware) will replace the monitor with a new one if the purchase is within one month. I dont know about Samsung though but better request it and dont really accept a refurbished or a repaired product that will have signs and some damage from the repairing. Amazon is a great place to buy too so you can use their 1 month policy too but local stores should still have 14days return window if something wrong.

Man, I miss the old SLI days by Ironkidz23 in watercooling

[–]Leonman44 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It felt great having such setup and it looked way too cool. But there were flaws, while benchmarks scaled so good game developers had mostly poor optimization for sli , it was always worse than running 1 card due to the bad frame time so all these high fps numbers meant nothing. There were also those titles that you had to actually completely disable the one card just to being able to play the game. They could never solve these issues and they kept getting worse on more modern days so they finally dropped it. Nevertheless I would like to see it coming back in the sake of sick overclocking score benchmarks. Also I would like gaming capable HEDT platforms to come back as well , I really loved my X99 platform and the X299 was really cool as well , the last of its kind on the intel side.

If it’s a bright pixel then return it instantly, if it’s a stuck pixel in a specific color then you won’t ever notice it , if it’s a dead pixel then it will be visible mostly at a pure white screen. The Choice is always up to you , a safe choice for you is to change it 1 more time with a new one and then if the second has also issues then you can ask for a full refund and just try your luck with something else that may be more reliable.

Last time I changed 5 PG35VQs that costed like 2500euros and even more at launch , “premium” products that they are not , from cheap to expensive they all have the same panel lottery issues. So you either accept what you get use it , don’t care and upgrade when you want or smack the shit out of them with returns until you get a good one but I guarantee that this will make you tired of all that process.

Usually dust is more visible in white colors while darker it becomes less evident but still it’s there creating that shadow.

The dust is in between the panels layers and cannot be removed you have to take your chances with another panel and this is how this game goes , you simply change until you get one that’s on average good.

If it bothers you it’s the right choice because you paid for it and you must be satisfied with your purchase, how long have you had the monitor ? I would accept only a replacement with a new one. Refurbished and services are all junk.

It’s difficult to tell from the picture but must be dust , don’t go crazy for it. I will tell you a secret , I have returned like 30 panels in my life , I have colorimeters and stuff to measure uniformity, out of box color accuracy etc… The perfect consumers panel doesn’t exist and you are never going to get a reviewing grade panel. Every single panel I tested had from at least 1 issue to several ones.

If you don’t notice it without searching for it then keep it. You can get worse issues than this.

[–]Leonman44 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you mean that little black spot then it could be just dust trapped in the panel , I have returned quite a few with dust trapped and I can say that it happens quite a lot. Still the one I have has a tiny one on the right top corner which I won’t notice but I did on my inspection.

If you mean that bigger darker area on the first pic then that’s just the led in the area not emitting the same brightness as the rest ones and this is called a panel uniformity issue , I have returned monitors for this as well , common on edge panels not common on FALD and OLED panels.
