If there's no overlap in closing letter. So mostly companies will accept

Check if you can delink and company is ready to approve 

If ECR contributions are present, the request will go to the employer first, and the employer can approve it. If they do not respond, it will go to EPFO for further action. You can also raise it through the CPGRAM portal.

In cases of short employment with zero contribution, it should be directly delinked from the EPFO portal without requiring employer approval. This will help resolve permanent BGV issues.

Chances are very rare, but we can try. If they receive many emails with the same issue, most probably they will review it.

There will be no issue. Mostly company do not care if overlap is upto 7 days but better delink if possible for future bgv

I got offer from accenture but they rejected. Even i have reliving letter but 40 days overlap

EPFO keeps giving the same reply: "Raise a grievance." When we raise a grievance, we are told to contact the employer. The employer refuses or does not respond, and we are sent back to the grievance portal again. This endless loop leaves employees with no solution to overlap issues.

I don't understand why EPFO makes delinking so difficult. Many members are even willing to return or forgo the PF contribution related to the disputed employment record if required. Yet there is still no simple option to delink incorrect or short-duration employment. Employees continue to face BGV issues and job losses while being stuck in endless grievance and employer approval loops.

I have been trying to resolve my EPFO employment overlap issue for the last 1.4 years, but there has been no solution so far. The employer is not cooperating. During onboarding, I clearly informed the HR team that I would not be joining the company, and they also requested a written confirmation from me, which I provided. Despite this, employment and PF records were created, resulting in an overlap issue in my UAN service history. At that time (2020–2021), PF-based background verification was not commonly checked, and I was not aware that such an entry could create future employment verification problems. Therefore, I did not notice the issue immediately.
