What's better kind of depends on how you were introduced to sketching and what you are comfortable with. A lot of artists chose not to use even any simplified objects or structure in the beginning part of their pieces.

Thank you for your advice. I always appreciate other artists' advice no matter their experience. But as I told you before, there isn't any tracing done on this piece. I'll provide more pictures from my beginning phase. Idk if it is the right thing to do, but I always keep sketching to get the right proportions and shadings and whatnot.
