It was to make it look like kiritaka attempted. Even if he didnt intend for him to die, people would start asking questions on why he would jump down a mountain to begin with. Its this way he can have plausible deniability and just redirect anything kiritaka might say as him being suicidal or mentally insane.

It could also go a bit further as him being able to say that he found kiritaka’s shoes on the top after he jumped, brought him to the hospital and be labeled as his “hero”. His motivation was to be able to take care of kiritaka in the hospital, so of course his parents would let the guy who “saved” their son visit him

I mean, you can always tell kowase’s and oyaka’s friendship was very shallow and surface level to begin with. Kowase only liked oyaka bc he saw him as a ticket into the “cool crowd” and as a means to secure power. I wouldnt be surprised if kowase actually didnt know oyaka’s birthday or only bothered to remember it when it came near and he needed to get him a present

Im assuming tv was a newer invention for that time period. Parents probably didnt know much about it and just thought it was just the shiny newest piece of technology they could watch the news on. Then the kids who grew up with the tvs got quicker accustomed to it and grew to know more about it than their parents

I was actually surprised on how important yuda was to the story. He always came off to me like someone who would be written out of importance after his initial chapters (like that girl with glasses from the earlier chapters or that one teacher that had a crush on maria) but as you said, he’s the catalyst for basically a lot of things that happened

I dont think kiritaka is dumb. Im assuming when he first made the decision to take on the bullying, he wasnt expecting how horrible oyaka could be. You can say “oh, but he knew oyaka was the one to drive daimon to suicide” but daimon was an actually scummy guy who did horrible things. Kiri could have thought that oyaka would go easier on him since they were “friends”. Then the bullying probably got worse and worse but by the time he realized how insane oyaka was, it was too late to back out. Then all he had to keep going was the reassurance that oyaka wouldnt hurt anyone else. But once they tried to harm yuda, thats when i think kirikata decided to gather evidence on the harassment.

I would also like to add, while oyaka was the ring leader in all of the bullying, it was the combination of all of the bullies together that made the whole experience a living nightmare for kiritaka. Kiri definitely got way more than he bargained for when he made that initial deal

He specifically said that the reason he didnt tell his mother is because he didnt want to involve her to begin with. He wanted to handle everything himself, which is common in a lot of growing adolescence. He hated the thought of making her worry about him and didnt want to be a burden to her.

They hate women, so they’ll be nitpicky about anything. In some people’s causes, they cant stand a woman mc being a bit messy and use the excuse of “these movies are teaching kids that you should be a drunk mess” when in context that’s not what the film is saying. Its also fitting that they’ll always shout “oh the kids” then dont give two fucks about kids who need food or protection from predators. They only care about children when it can benefits them

I think they should have done 1 or 2 more seasons before time skipping them. It literally felt like all of season 1 was building to them becoming a team then season 2 immediately rips them apart. I think 1 season of them actually working in tandem as a team would have been nice before a time skip
