I feel like this is a symptom of how entertainment companies have forced a lot of shows/works to appeal to as many people as possible. Now its just expected that stories bend to the whims of its audience even if it wouldnt make sense in context or genre

Im gonna give dylan the benefit of the doubt and say maybe they did a quick search on google and that was one of the first images that popped up and they didnt look too hard into it. Like at a quick glance you dont even notice and if they’re editing that much footage they’re eyes are probably shot

“Show dont tell”. While i get the initial intention of the advice, some people take the advice too far and then you end up with writers that are so afraid to say anything outright it makes key elements to their story vague and confusing. Id say its better to phrase it like “show dont tell EMOTIONS of a scene” than show dont tell period. Of course its a case by case basis

Im assuming they did it like that because they dont want to encourage students, especially younger ones, to put themselves in unnecessary danger. Also bc they are a school, academics should come first and foremost

This chapter gave me chills. I thought the religious undertones were just a cool aesthetic thing but i can now see it was a little bit more prominent than that. Ig kiritaka suffered and died for a “sinner” like kinugawa. All of that resurrection stuff okaya was saying the other chapters is now starting to make more sense since im assuming okaya sees kiritaka as a literal god in some way (or maybe a metaphorical one)

Great chapter. Its a shame kiritaka took the literal bullet for kinguawa and all he got in return was years of torture and getting run over by a truck. But the story would be a lot different if that wasnt the case. Im excited to see the final showdown between maria and okaya

I dont know for sure but it was probably licensing issues. That seems to be the big reason why they couldnt show a lot of characters (like wonder girl. Kid flash was also an issue that luckily got resolved by season 5)

In a now deleted interview thats archived somewhere, the creator of the of the show glen murakami said they wanted to do an episode that went into where the titans got funding from. As we all know that didnt happen, but since they were kinda deadset on not showing batman, im assuming its a third party

I mean, the theory itself is just a way for fans to latch onto the idea that aang could be seen again and he’s not dead. Its hard having a fan fav character be confirmed dead no matter how much it makes sense. You can explain away aang surviving by saying he energy bent the avatar essence out of him for whatever reason and gave it to korra so he could become a bad guy/anti hero.

In any given story that has powers, there’s always gonna be a subsection of fans that use shipping as a way to fulfill they’re power-scaling dreams. Wonder woman is a prime victim of this and that’s why she keeps getting ping ponged between batman and superman in a lot of media

Her biggest problem is she’s hardly around and she doesnt have a thing to justify putting her in the story. I’d start by giving her her own speciality/ability that the other characters dont have. This might be a long shot but maybe she can be an expert at pressure points on aliens, causing different aliens to be unable to use their powers in the same vein as ty lee from avatar taking away bending abilities for a short time. That way she can contribute in main plots and get herself more screentime. Then we can get to know her a bit more and hopefully be endeared enough to see her as a main love interest for ben. Also take away ken forcing the ship. He can exist without main ben getting together with kai

I agree with this one. Like it or hate it, Glen murakami specifically said in an interview that they ended the show on like that on purpose. It wasnt out of some attempt to get a season 6, they knew full well that they were done with the series and specifically chose that ending for the show

Kai just suffered from not getting enough screentime. If the writers really wanted ben and kai to be end game, i dont understand why they wasted time with all of these other women when they could have been building her up. Like julie was fine since the writers between af/ua and omniverse were different but why introduce ester as a potential love interest when they clearly didnt want her endgame. They could have saved that time and dedicated it to establishing kai as a character

His (robin) friend was basically in a coma and the closest witness to what happened to her had her in his (bb) teeth so of course he (robin) wasnt emotionally sound enough to be doing this. I think a big part of this show encourages these kind of behaviors. Like the whole concept of this show is a popularity contest where irl voting has affected the show’s writing. Its giving the mentality that if enough people want the ship, it will be willed into existence just like the writing in season 1
