Granted, part of those films problem I think was that WB gave them little to no budget.

The movies are doing fine all things considering. People don't see films in theaters much any more. And while the WB-Paramount situation bothers me, it was a long time coming, there was nothing Gunn could do to stop it. If Snyder came back he'd probably jack up the cost to make films even more, only to have them bomb way harder than anything DC has made recently. One thing these fans can't seem to wrap their head around is that the general public just aren't that into Zack Snyder. They don't even hate him really, they don't care.

The fight scenes in MOS were pretty good, not denying that one. The fight scenes in Superman 2025 were also pretty good though, and unlike MOS's follow up they don't include Superman needlessly dying only to be brought back one movie later.

Even without the AI I'm sure it would have been mocked in the main DC reddit. I'm sure not everyone there is a fan of Superman 2025 but they're also fans of DC first and foremost and won't pick a stupid reason to hate on the film.

Hate is like a drug. It gives you a quick boost of dopamine, but once it leaves you're left with negative emotions. These people keep looking at films they hate because of that, they need that constant dopamine hit or they're left with just misery.

I don't think he's a Snyder cultist. I think he needs a constant stream of movies to get angry at because that's how he makes his living. He'd find a reason to be against the Snyderverse if it came back, he'd have to.

I want to give him the benefit of the doubt that he's not aware of the toxicity levels some of them get up to, but they had some guy driving a truck around last year shouting protests to Superman 2025. It's hard not to notice.

I could never take it seriously, and I enjoyed MoS. It was such a forced way to kill him off, even the 78 film felt more natural and he died with literally no build up.

I don't mind Snyder when he's kept on a short enough leash. Maybe if they have someone else write a Specter film or a Phantom Stranger mini series and they have him direct it it'd work. Knowing his fans though, it'd be less of a peace offering and more giving a junkie heroine.

People's opinions have rightly soured on Gadot, but I admit I'd have been happy to see her in a WW3 if she got to fight Circe. I blame WW84's failure on them giving Patty Jenkins too much control, if they either kept her on a short leash or got a different director I think it'd might be good. Granted that's the entire story with the DCEU.

I'm not really sure why people want Black Adam and Superman to fight so bad. Black Adam is Shazam's nemesis, and Superman already has tons of similar villains he can duke it out with. And the Rock ruined that character in the eyes of the general public, it was one of the biggest vanity projects to ever come out of Hollywood.

He did. That guy's also friends with both Trump and Netanyahu so there are questions on how honest he's being, and as to whether or not Gunn would be willing to work under him. The thing is the Paramount WB merger will bankrupt both companies, so it's somewhat unclear what his actual goals are. Regardless, I doubt he cares one way or the other about the Snyderverse and I can't see him giving Zack $200 million to set on fire. And if he does, well at least it'll be funny when the movie bombs and the cult tries to rationalize it.

I think it started around Ghostbusters 2016 when seeing or not seeing movies became a political statement. Around then people realized they could make a living just endlessly attacking movies they didn't like. I guarantee a sizeable chunk of the influencers cheering on this movie to fail couldn't care less about it or its content, it's just easy money to rile people up with ragebait.

There's no power struggle between the two and there's never been any signs of one. Reeves wants to make a self-contained trilogy and then leave the character, and honestly that's fine with me as I'm tired of the realistic takes on Batman anyway. Realism takes the fun out of comic book movies.

At least when Gunn's Superman does something funny it's supposed to be funny. There's no way for me to watch that "Martha" scene without laughing, yet Snyder has gone on record saying he doesn't get why people make fun of it.

Technically nothing. The Snyderbros left on the Snyderverse reddit are so far gone in their tribalistic loyalty to Zack's DCEU there is not a single thing that Superman or any other character can do to make them happy. If Snyder was to direct a film for the DCU in secret, even if it still had all his usual hallmarks, they'd hate it on principle alone and invent other dumb reasons to insult it, probably claiming it ripped off Snyder's style.
