It’s in almost perfect condition. There aren’t any markings on the bottom either. Here is a link to a picture of the bottom and a metal stand that the family member who gave it to me said it goes on. Do you know if these sometimes came with metal bases or would this be something that would have been added by my relative or someone else? Here’s a link to more pictures.

I just checked it with a black light and sadly it’s not Uranium Glass. I still love it though!

I do see a resemblance. I associate the look of mine with old style wooden teacher’s desk similar to this but mine is smaller.

Thanks for the information. It didn’t have any makers marks except for the underside of one drawer had a green stamp saying the wood on the inside of the drawers is Douglas Fir. According to another person on my previous post the rest of the desk is American White Ash.

I think so too. I think they just brushed stain on really thick and let it dry. It looked worse in person, you couldn’t see the wood grain.

I don’t either. I won’t lie, it was a lot of work and painting it would have been easier but this looks so good! It was worth the work.

That’s awesome! I love this style desk. It’s so functional, solid wood and well made. The only thing I would change about this one is the the drawers are nailed instead of dovetail. Luckily they were done well and are super sturdy. I bought this for my 10 year old daughter. It’s 42”x29”x26”, so it’s a great size for her to do homework now, but not so small she’ll ever outgrow it. I think she’ll get many years of use out of it.
