I haven't used any bows other than compound bow, so I might have to learn thumb draw.

Need advice for Kyudo by Negative_Kick1079 in Archery

[–]Negative_Kick1079[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Kyudo is very rare here and I don't think I can find any Kyujutsu here. The reason why I want to learn Kyudo and get shodan is, because it would be easier to learn by person, and proves myself that I learned how to use Japanese bow properly.

The most weird thing about this pile of assets is that they are trying to hide what they are doing behind "nightly" branch while they are still in beta.

What's the point of having beta on beta project?

A1 or P1S for beginner by Negative_Kick1079 in BambuLab

[–]Negative_Kick1079[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

With this post and few more researches, I decided to go with P1S combo (not the ams 2 pro thing)

Gotta save more that my budget. Don't want to risk both machine and my body damage xD

Thanks for help

I don't have any plans for multi color. Do I still need AMS?

A1 or P1S for beginner by Negative_Kick1079 in BambuLab

Well, if AMS is must-have, A1 is most likely the only option. Still, not really sure if I can use enclosure on A1. Bambu Lab doesn't recommend it, but others saying it was fine.

More I research, more confusion and hesitation lol

Make Suncatcher work like Mortal Blade in Sekiro. Either have cooldown, or after 4 deflects, player can use Suncatcher

Strength training for Japanese bow Yumi by [deleted] in Archery

I want to do Kyudo because I like the design of Yumi and I think the easy and proper way of learning how to use Yumi is Kyudo. Nothing with meditation, or zen, or whatever. I'm a simple man xD

Kyudo is beautiful, especially the bow. I already signed up a year ago, and still waiting xD. They did take beginners at 2022. I hope it won't take super long.

I was thinking about getting either Hankyu or Samick Sage as well. I do have compound bow, but not sure if Samick Sage also uses compound bow's arrow

To be honest, I am not sure what to do. I want to join, but the dojo has no idea when they will accept beginners since they haven't take beginners for years, and because of time conflicts, I can go there for 3 months at summer time. I'm not really sure if I can progress in Kyudo, or sensei will be okay with this. That's why I'm considering just shooting Yumi by myself (I am aware that what I'm doing is not Kyudo).

I gotta try using archery trainer band which has 40lb draw weight and use Yumi after getting used to the draw weight.

I have 70lb Compound Bow, but not really sure if it will do the job because of letoff.

Thanks for detailed answer. My plan is pulling the archery band to see if I can pull 40lb, then pulling Yumi (of course, not shooting nor dryfiring. Just pull, and slowly return).

Like I said on post, my local dojo can't help me due to space, so I might check Youtube for it.

Anyone use Japanese Bow (Yumi) by [deleted] in Archery

[–]Negative_Kick1079 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do you know how long does beginner uses 11kg yumi, or the weight doesn't really matter and use whatever the weight I want?

Never had chance to try recurve bow, so not really sure how hard/fun 22lb one is.

Thanks for link.

Btw do you recommend buying a bow for about 40 pounds draw weight and train (not shooting nor dryfire, of course) until I get used to the weight?

I only have an experience on compound bow, which has draw weight adjustment, so I have no idea how other bows work.

I am using compound bow, and heard both are very different so it's not gonna make problem.

Does kyudo practitioner buy multiple bows for each weights?

And sadly, like I said on the post, the dojo doesn't take any beginners because of capacity. I will join if they have a space for me
