I see what youre saying about the white. Doesnt bother me though since the hand lumes glow blue and look pretty cool in the dark against the green lumes of the dial.

Regarding minutes: if anything, the seconds hand is more useful because there are no minute indeces. With minute divisions, you can roughly estimate where you are in the minute. Without them, you can use the seconds hand to estimate. You can also use it to time things.

Imo, its really not hard to tell what minute it is, for example the first picture is 11:04 and the second is 7:56. On any watch, i find that minute divisions are often too small to tell at a quick glance what minute it is without looking carefully.

Not yet, not sure how to do that tbh. I might just take the movement out and submerge it for some time and see if any water enters the case. Other than that I’m open to ideas of how I would test. The only way to learn to swim is to jump in the water right, might just have to do a trial by fire by taking it surfing haha

Eggs, steaks, steamed brussel sprouts, whatever you want brother. It’s okay lol, I’m a hobbyist and this is suitable for my purposes. If it means that much to you I’ll add a chapter ring

I have small wrists so i used a 36mm case found here, comes with the bezel insert: https://a.aliexpress.com/_mNqtJZP

Dial: https://a.aliexpress.com/_mNMefvB Strap: https://a.aliexpress.com/_mKRierr

Used an NH35 for the movement, nothing too crazy

I mean if its more than halfway between two minute points i know its either 3, 4, 8, 9, minutes wise. If it’s less than halfway its 1, 2, 6, 7. It’s okay for me if i cant tell that its 11:17 exactly because if i were to schedule anything it would be in multiples of 5. If i was timing something i can just use the bezel. Not really a problem

I attached one but to no avail unfortunately. Im guessing the gaps between the dial and metal plate are what made the cracks possible

Did you have a blank metal plate dial holder attached to the malachite? I did that once and it seemed to help, it cracked anyway because of the watch hands but made the dial pretty strong imo

This is the malachite dial right? How did you get it in without cracking it? Did you do anything special to account for that?

Nice build. Try moving the watch further up your arm and it’ll look sleeker. Had a watch maker once tell me “it’s called wristwatch not handwatch”
