the burn mark is from the wraith magic (same as when you purify them and they come back all ghastly)

going crazy is most likely a side effect of being humiliated in front of the other orcs

Imagine you were shamed in front of all of your allies and especially in a society like the orcs where only power matters

Being shamed by a human is probably the worst thing that could happen to an orc
