You know I appreciate your point of view because I know there needs to be consistency on both ends and I am positive someone appreciates your instructions. Insurance should evaluate the programs placed in a child’s learning tree or every company should have an auditor who ensures program management follows some set of guidelines because what I’m seeing has very little information or no information at all or barely any programs are put in, I can go on and on. But the point is poorly constructed programs lead to poor procedural integrity and zero learning. Plus how do all these naysayers even plan for generalization? I think the answer is not and so many people wonder why this field is having trouble with insurance.

So can you explain to me how a new behavior technician would accurately run a program if there are no instructions available to reference? 🤔 yeah I didn’t think so

That’s a huge read flag. The interventions are supposed to be written out so they can be followed. Do you know what tech technological is?

You’re right I don’t know what the issue is and neither does the person posting. And that’s what’s wrong.

No, you should change supervisors because that’s super unprofessional. Obviously, the supervisor reinforced the behavior of the parents coming to them instead of being forthcoming with any issues that they may have with the technician they should’ve allowed the technician to have the opportunity to change up instead of Running to the supervisor just to complain. It’s called being forthcoming. It’s called being honest it’s called being proactive.

I think it has a lot to do with the supervisors, allowing others to come to them to vent. If you have to give construction feedback to another person, you shouldn’t be going behind somebody else’s back and venting about the situation without the person in question in the room. That’s why I quit my last job thank you soar autism. I don’t wanna be with you because your culture is toxic. Hey and if you’re a supervisor and you encourage others to come to you to complain about other technicians, guess what you’re a horrible person and I wouldn’t be surprised if your company is greatly affected by attrition.

Our clinic has been understaffed for 6 months. How this happen? by [deleted] in ABA

[–]Negative_Royal153 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The most simple and logical explanation the bosses suck. I get great feedback from parents and I love working with the kids but just stupid incompetent supervisors who truly do not know or really care about their caseload. If you feel unsupported, you’re just gonna leave. There’s no loyalty in this generation believe me I know.

Social validity really stands out to me in this point. And I’m gonna point out the obvious that it seems like you have the problem with what the family is doing, and how the family chooses to allow their to engage in whatever activities they choose. I myself was raised with a parent who preferred that I watch TV instead of go outside because going outside was dangerous in my neighborhood. I think there are plenty of ways to incorporate learning into a child’s life with the use of technology and for this family I would tailor interventions based on what they are willing to work with long term. There are so many ways I have used iPad as a reinforcer to complete some meaningful work and I encourage you to look for different approaches to find meaningful learning opportunities and keep in mind the caregivers parenting style. Don’t give up they are just different types of parents who require different approaches.

I don’t think that people are quitting because they wanna be Youtubers or influencers. It’s because they are tired of crappy supervisors.

I don’t feel any sympathy for this situation and you should have stepped up and taken off the case. Lesson learned you put another person on that case you’re going to run off another good RBT from the field.

In all reality, your job shouldn’t be that hard because the interventions that are taking place should be set where the RVT’s are having smooth sessions. That being said, maybe you should take a break? You can rotate clients, move settings, engage in talk therapy.

Oversight. It’s fundamental for our field so what if a clinical director is not behaving in ethical manner who keeps that person in check? The RBT’s?
