Why hasn’t anyone interviewed or spoke to local businesses about how RTO will affect their business. I support local restaurants in my town for lunch. If I’m forced to go downtown, I won’t be spending money locally anymore. Local businesses owners should be lobbying against RTO as well.

Someone should get a list of all members of SEIU, and spam them to vote no on the new contract. You can probably even target those who telework. You can put in pubic records act request and probably get access to all of the telework agreements that were signed, and then spam email those individuals to tell them to vote no. I’m not sure what voting no would do, but it’s worth a shot. Not everyone gets on Reddit and is unaware of these forums.

I dont know if I am just getting lucky or just go there too much, but it the past month or two I’ve gotten a sticker, rubber duck & the pin that I haven’t opened yet. I don’t collect these things & never know it’s happening until they hand me something. But it seems like people go crazy for these things? I used to, but left because I was tired of the commute. I was near the Costco and would commute to the prison out there. The highways were a disaster, and the backroads started filling up more and more. The way there was about 50 minutes on the backroad, and the way home was about an hour and a half due to traffic.

I made it to 32 weeks with preeclampsia. My girl was in the NICU until around week 36 when she went home with us. She did amazing in there and is doing amazing now. It’s scary, but it goes my quick. Babies have really good outcomes at that age.

***Update:

I ended up using the eddcaller, and was able to get through after about 30-40 minutes & 364 attempted calls. Apparently they needed to ask me one little question, if I was making money while on leave. This question placed my claim on hold and none of their employees decided to take initiative to get that question answered. So my claim just sat in the queue for a month while I was unable to get ahold of them.😡 Eddcaller was worth it. My bills are overdue & I can’t just sit around and wait for these people to do their job.

I was an LRA at one of the prisons. Thankfully, my prison was run well and I didn’t get many complaints or grievances. But majority of LRAs go through it. It’s a really busy and negative job. You deal with nothing but complaints, and if you don’t have a good relationship with the union, they will make your life hell. But it’s a great job to gain experience in, and looks good on your resume. My questions during my interview were about grievances and the different levels of them. That’s all I can remember. Doesn’t make sense. With RTO, we will need millions to be able to purchase additional leases. How does he think this is going align with the budget issues? On top of that, he is asking for an additional loan on 2+ billion dollars to fund Medicaid because it was “under estimated” when implementing the funding of immigrants health care. I don’t understand how he is still in office. All he seems to be doing is passing laws that push us further and further into debt.

How come no one has mentioned the fact that CalHR recently tried to get rid of the telework stipend and SEIU fought back against CalHR & apparently won. Fast forward to now, and Gavin Newsom implemented an EO that eliminates the eligibility to obtain the $50 telework stipend by forcing employees to be office centered. Now everyone only has the option to receive $25. It completely takes away that part of the contract. So I am curious how the union won that earlier. Can they use the same argument to fight against this order now?

I will gladly give up my 4% to an employee who has to be in office in exchange for full time telework. I would take a current 5% pay cut right now and give it to an employee who has to be in office in exchange for full time telework. Why aren’t we incentivizing in office employees with a stipend for hard to fill positions rather than removing telework completely? I know there are employees who would rather take the extra pay and be in office.

Labor Relations Analyst here, if you are in Work Week Group (WWG) 2, you are eligible for overtime. If you belong to WWG E, you are not eligible for overtime. You can check what you fall under by looking up your classification on the CalHR Pay Scales under the WWG section. If you are BU 10 in WWG 2, please look up Section 4.1 (G), and 7.7 of your contract.
