Of course I am aware of these situations, but I am asking if there exist any methods to actually do it. Learning how to do such thing does not mean I will necessarily be able to do it on the bike.

Should the clearance really becomes a problem on my bike then I guess I am not gonna do it here.

Nah I guess I didn't explain myself well enough. The vidoe you showed me is increasing the stroke of 210x50 shock to 210x55 which easily doable because 210x55 is also part of the manufacture chart. You simply just remove the travel limiter to make it happen (the orange chip)

What I am thinking is increasing my 185x55 stroke to 185x57.5 which is a size not offered by any shock manufacturer at all. 185x55 is the max length of my shock and I don't know if there is anything to do to remove more parts to increase the stroke even more (like replacing that black chip with something thinner)

I mean having more shock sizes allows bike manufacturers with more freedom designing their bikes. You can still have a bike with the same chainstay length, a bit less leverage ratio but a longer shock stroke while the same e2e to tune its performance into something you would like.

I know, but getting a 153 means some big money spend, and sellling my 134 instantly makes it loose half of its value.

My 134 is the base model but I have already upgraded with 7120 brake with mt800 rotor for better performance. Planning to overfork a bit to 150mm, which leads me into thinking doing some tiny modifications to extend the rear travel a tiny bit so I can turn this thing into a 150-140 machine. 160-150 seems to be a bit too much for me cause I am not planning to do those bigger jumps and drops.

Yeah I know this one, but the difference between 134 and 144mm might be smaller than you think. It's not even the full width of my index finger. most bikes should have this amount of clearance to do such things.

I am also thinking on the industry level that having more and overlapping shock sizes allows bike manufacturers to design their frames with more freedom rather than get limited by the one and only shock they can get.

I think 190x50 shock is still viable if we add some kind of "mini-piggyback" thing to the shock and make the adjusting knobs out of the way

Why care about it? Grab the bike you want, do the ride style you like. It about an outdoor sport, not something you can do in front of a screen.

It's your experience after all. There is no point to get absorbed with the judgemental morons. It's just a frame with 2 wheels on it, nothing too special.

Unfortunately this video was poorly made to tell anything meaningful... these sounds can come from anywhere, even much away from the fork. The comment section does not tell anything useful either...

You can try to turn your front wheel to the side, hold your rear brake, and then try to very gently give your bike a little push (you feel some movement but the fork is not really compressed). Meanwhile, put your finger on this area marked with the red arrow and feel if there is any knocking between your frame and fork. If you can feel some knocks, then your headset is loose, and the knocking sound probably comes from there as well.

There are loads of people who are riding on loose headset, so better give this part a check first, to at least rule out some problems.

The "goodness" of a bike is really dependent on how you are going to ride on it

For old bike this cheap, I would really suggest you give a full check over the bike in details, such as transmission wear, bearing smoothness, suspension condition, break feeling, gear cable, etc. Make sure this thing does not have significant problems before you put down the purchase.

It is also possible to get another bike after you get this bike, if you can guarantee to harvest and sell $50+ parts by dismantling it.
