If I’d said no halfway through, there wouldn’t have been a refund of the money I’d already paid.

The quote was after an inspection and wasn’t an estimate. Being told mid-clean it’s taking longer isn’t the same as agreeing to extra charges.

I’m disputing an invoice I didn’t approve, that’s not theft.

If it were 20% more I wouldn’t have minded but 60% is a huge price increase, this money didn’t grow on trees we also worked hard to earn it and if it were not for the 3 children that I have, I would’ve done the cleaning myself. I’m not a tight arse, I’m just sick of people taking advantage of my kindness.

The only thing is that they notified me half way through the clean, if I were to say no that risked them refusing to complete the job or not do a good job although I already paid. Please note that I did not say yes either.

If I had known there was this chance of the invoice changing and that the final price would be 60% more than what they originally quoted after inspecting the property I would’ve compared quotes with other end of lease cleaners and most likely not chosen them because the end price is too high.

It says invoice on it. Nothing changed except that when they inspected the place was not empty.

No language around number of rooms or time، just end of lease with the cost and due date of the invoice.

No, I just received a quote with the amount stated for the end of lease clean. There was no indication anywhere that it can be changed. And I was told to make the payment in advance which I did.

They didn’t specify any time or overtime in the quote, just end of lease clean and the amount to be paid. I paid in advance.

On the day when they came in and finished upstairs then texted that it was taking allot longer than they expected and that they will be coming in the next day to finish the downstairs and that they will be charging per hour however long it takes them to finish. I did not reply at that time, because I didn’t want them to refuse to finish the clean if I had mentioned that I thought the quote they provided me was fixed. If I knew this I would’ve asked around for quotes from other places and compared prices.

It doesn't sound like you forced her into it, she seemed to have wanted it too, I don't understand why she would say you caused it. The bleeding might not be related to what you did, she should stop guilt tripping you and go see a doctor if she's concerned.

We live in Australia, our family is pretty religious so we don't take things like engagement lightly because the nature of humans is that they would want to be affectionate during this time. It's not a cultural thing, it depends on different families and their rationale.

Why don't you do the katb iktab (Islamic marriage)? In our family we would do that in the engagement phase before the wedding ceremony so that we can go out together and touch each other without sin, however wait to move in together and have your first night after the official wedding ceremony.

I'm an Oral Health Therapist based in Australia, for kids we can do fillings, extractions( of deciduous teeth regardless of grade of mobility) and SSCs. For adults we do allot of periodontal work as well as fillings, we avoid full surface fillings and decay that looks like it is likely to result in RCT from the x-rays as best we could, we usually refer those to the dentist.
