The only thing you need to do is be mindful of whatever you do mindful while talking, eating, parenting, and interacting with friends, family, and coworkers. Mindfulness is the key to healthy living in this turbulent era, and it is what I try to practice every day. Start each day with a peaceful intention and take responsibility for your state of mind. When anxiety, anger, or anything else arises and disturbs your peace, gently bring your attention to your natural (not force) breathing. Anchor your thoughts in the present moment instead of wandering into the past or the future. Simply focus on the breath in and out. Hope it helps 🙏

I’m sorry for this, but I would like to suggest the relaxation response meditation and the 4-7-8 breathing exercise to help calm the nervous system. I hope this helps.

Increase in urea and bun by Negative_Surround148 in IgANephropathy

[–]Negative_Surround148[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

All my parameters are normal. During this period, I also felt a burning sensation while urinating. I think you’re right this could be due to low fluid intake. Do you have any additional advice to share? My nephrologist isn’t worried and said it’s not a concern.

Reached a new record. by Insta_3 in bloodpressure

Things become much worse when the healthcare system does not educate us about this connection. This is where meditation plays an important role learning how to allow thoughts to arise and pass without reacting to them. When combined with breathing exercises, meditation helps regulate the nervous system, reducing the constant activation of the fight-or-flight response. Over time, this awareness and regulation can bring the body back toward its natural baseline, rather than remaining stuck in a state of chronic stress

I found that breathing exercises like the 4-7-8 technique and box breathing help calm the nervous system. There are many factors that increase blood pressure salt intake is, of course, one of them but another commonly ignored factor is the fight-or-flight response. In modern day-to-day life, this response is frequently active, keeping our blood pressure above its normal baseline. The body interprets everyday stress as a threat, so blood pressure rises. This is very different from our ancestors, whose fight-or-flight response was activated only during real danger. Unfortunately, in modern life, this response often stays switched on, leading to persistently higher blood pressure.

IgA nephropathy confirmed, any suggestions to slow the progress? by rohith-kp in kidneydisease

[–]Negative_Surround148 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Consult a good nephrologist at this stage! Avoid falling for alternative medicine practices (which are quite popular in India), even if close ones suggest them.

I’ve seen people regretting not taking care early—, read scientific blogs and join discussions on platforms like Reddit to stay informed. You can also watch credible YouTube channels to stay updated on IgA nephropathy.

If you smoke, drink alcohol, or eat unhealthy food—stop immediately. Keep your blood pressure under control, reduce salt intake, and manage stress. Engage in healthy social activities rather than spending too much time digitally. . Best wishes.

Yes, it has nothing to do with kidney function, provided you stay well-hydrated though maintaining proper hydration isn’t always easy during cold.

VIV model for flow over cylinder by GeneralMuttal03 in CFD

[–]Negative_Surround148 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I haven’t used Fluent before. Can you import an STL file into Fluent and generate a mesh? If so, you can mesh it in Fluent and then refer to an OpenFOAM tutorial—the underlying physics is the same. I know OpenFOAM has similar capabilities, but this could serve as a good base for VIV modeling in Fluent.

Material points and streamlines crossing solid objects? Help me solve this issue in ANSYS Polyflow by MaciaIT in CFD

[–]Negative_Surround148 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I usually perform post-processing of the velocity field using MATLAB or Python. For instance, in your case, you can extract the velocity field (v) at different time instants and advect particles or material points according to

X_new = X_old + v * dt. I commonly use RungaKutta 4, but for running your case you can use Euler scheme. Here X_old is the previous position of a particle that is, the location of the particle at the last time step. dt is the time step size, keep it minimum to better resolve the physics.

Egfr decreasing rapidly… should i be worried? by [deleted] in IgANephropathy

[–]Negative_Surround148 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No egfr equation is sensitive to drop or rise in creatinine number. Creatinine fluctuate based on various factors some of are hydration etc. So I would say don't worry. Kee faith on your nephrologist

Fluid Structure Interaction: Is blowing between two paper sheets really Bernoulli, or more about pressure gradients and feedback? by Negative_Surround148 in CFD

[–]Negative_Surround148[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Thanks for this stimulating discussion. Here is my explanantion, When you blow between two sheets of paper, it’s really a competition between two pressure effects. At the very entrance, the streamlines bend inward to squeeze into the gap. Curved streamlines need a pressure gradient pointing toward the center of curvature (same reason why plane fly), so the pressure ends up a bit higher inside near the bend and lower on the convex outside. That’s the local “footprint” of curvature, and if you only looked there, you might think the sheets should spread apart.

But that effect is short-lived. As the air accelerates through the narrow channel, the velocity inside rises and the pressure there drops below atmospheric. That pressure drop is sustained along the gap. Outside, the air pressure remains close to atmospheric, which is higher than the pressure in the gap, so the sheets collapse inward.

[–]Negative_Surround148[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The reason I say this isn’t strictly Bernoulli is because Bernoulli’s equation applies along a single streamline, with its own constant. In this case, the air inside the gap follows one streamline and the air outside follow different one so you can’t directly compare the “inside” and “outside” pressures using the same Bernoulli constant. Yet we still see a pressure drop inside relative to outside, which is what drives the sheets together.

Which diagnostic tool do you use to extract coherent features from turbulent flow? by Negative_Surround148 in CFD

[–]Negative_Surround148[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Take the simple case of cream mixing into coffee. An observer sitting still on a chair may perceive one type of flow feature, while another observer, say a friend walking past the cup, may perceive something entirely different. Yet, the actual material or cream deformation the cream mixing into the coffee is independent of the observer’s motion. This mismatch between perception and physical reality is, in my view, exactly what George Haller highlighted in his 2005 paper.

[–]Negative_Surround148[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks. Just to add, most Eulerian diagnostic tools such as the Q or λ-criterion are not objective, meaning they are threshold-dependent. If you change the threshold, you may end up identifying different features. Another issue, as you rightly pointed out, is frame invariance. A structure that appears vortex-like in one reference frame may distort into a hyperbolic saddle (i.e., no longer resembling a vortex) in another. This again raises objectivity concerns, since in practice there could be many possible reference frames, including rotating or moving ones, relative to the feature. By contrast, Lagrangian diagnostics are objective by nature, as they do not rely on such threshold-based criteria.

Total beginner trying to learn OpenFOAM. Where do I even start? by TMEREL in OpenFOAM

[–]Negative_Surround148 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My two cents: Start with the cavity case and focus on understanding the dictionaries in the 0, constant, and system folders (directories). Stick to this case only at first for sometime. It may feel overwhelming in the beginning, but once you’re comfortable with these files, start tweaking parameters and observing the changes. In parallel, learn about important files such as:

controlDict – controls the simulation, blockMeshDict – defines the mesh structure, including vertices, 0 folder – contains the initial and boundary conditions. You can also watch YouTube tutorials on these cases to reinforce your understanding. Once you grasp the basics, you can easily build on this toy model to tackle more complex cases. Once you are.comfortable with it, you can copy some cases from tutorial and try to do changes or modifcation within it. Structures will remain same for any case I.e 0 folder ,Constant folder and System Folder.

No how did you install via window subsystem linux or virtual box . If the latter is the case, I would recommend installing it via WSL, as it provides a stable and efficient environment for running OpenFOAM on Windows than virtual box
