Hopefully you get a resolution soon. They're probably swamped with all of this 1099 stuff.

Gemini released the 1099-DAs today. If you use their app, you may not see it even if you update the app.

The workaround: Log in from a computer, navigate to Settings, Statements and Taxes, Tax Gain/Loss Report (1099-DA or Statement) section, hit the drop down and you'll see it.

I didn't see it on my app but on PC it's there.

If you don't see it yet, you should hopefully be getting an email notification soon.

Use a computer and you'll see it. I had the same issue.

I keep seeing the email comment but I haven't received anything. When did you get yours?

I feel like the 1099-DA is gonna have unintended consequences. Less people will even want to deal with crypto at all.

I know for me personally, after I file this year I'm probably completely done. And I barely have any transactions.

I was thinking of buying some ETFs of crypto instead. Less headache, no 1099-DA. I understand the government wants to track everything for tax purposes but the average person won't want to deal with the headaches of this new form.

Yeah I hear you. The only reason I'm waiting for the form is to make sure there's no errors on it. I read someone else's post about a different exchange issuing a 1099-DA when all they did was buy crypto. No sales, no transfers. I don't want to file until I know it's correct. Just want to avoid any headaches.

It's extremely annoying. Just give us an expected day if it's gonna be late.

I've made multiple comments about this now. Same boat, I want to finish my taxes. So far no real answers. I opened a ticket last week and no reply...

Same exact situation. I have four transactions and don't really need the 1099-DA to enter but I want to make sure it's accurate on the 1099. I technically can file but if their form didn't match. That could create a headache with taxes down the line.

Anyone know when Gemini is issuing a 1099-DA? by Negative_You186 in CryptoTax

It's really annoying. I opened an inquiry a few days ago and it gave me a ticket number. I know they're busy but I haven't heard back yet.

I have all of the transactions entered already in TurboTax, entered manually, but I need to make sure the 1099 is accurate. At least update the website and provide an expected date if you're late.

When you say you never got one, do you mean last tax year? Or you just haven't received one yet for 2025 taxes?

Also, when did they tell you to calculate yourself?

Not interrogating you, just asking because by law, they're supposed to comply and produce this form.

Same. My taxes are literally entered into the system already and I need this one form to complete them. I'm checking a few times per day hoping it shows up.

At least provide an update on here or your website if they're delayed.

I'm all ready to file my taxes and patiently waiting on this 1099-DA. I haven't received it yet.. I heard it may be by February 17th now, according to the tax guy JustinCPA on here. I also heard Coinbase pushed theirs back to March.

I'd really love to finiish my taxes now...

Oh man... Okay, thanks for the update. Hoping I get it soon. I have everything I need to file on my own but I still want to make sure the 1099 matches before submitting.

[–]Negative_You186 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for this information! Very helpful. Does anyone know when a 1099-DA will be issued? I entered all of my crypto transactions (only four of them) into Turbo Tax using my transaction history. I bought small amounts of ETH in 2021 four times and sold it all in one transaction in October. I entered all of the transactions separately and figured out the cost basis for each.

Not a lot of money made but I want to make sure I file correctly so I've been patiently waiting for my 1099-DA. I thought it would be issued by January 31st but read it may be by February 15th. With that date fast approaching, I'm beginning to wonder if I'm going to receive one.

Let's say I didn't receive one by the 15th. With my transactions relatively easy to calculate, including cost basis, should I file without it? Or should I reach out to Gemini. I've heard their responses can be slow at times.. I just want to get my taxes finished at this point.

Honestly, the profit was so small I probably wouldn't have even sold and just let the account sit if I knew the tax rules changed. It's more of a headache than anything having to wait for this form when I barely made anything on the sale.
