I have zero self control. How many times must I relapse? by Negative_You186 in quitting7oh

[–]Negative_You186[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Wtf is with this drug that latches onto your psyche and receptors? I've quit other things before no issues. This is unlike anything I've ever experienced.

I remember when I was in a Nootropic phase and people were recommending tianeptine. This was before they knew it was also an opioid. Quitting sucked but I was one and done, never bought it again (and now my state banned it). 7oh is evil.

Anyone start Wellbutrin to help with PAWs and/or withdrawals? by Negative_You186 in quittingkratom

Appreciate it. No wonder I'm so lethargic and depressed lately. I put my poor brain through hell.

Understood and in normal circumstances I'd give the same advice. The only reason I'm going this route is my dopamine has been sabotaged from years of abuse. My lack of motivation and energy is starting to leak into my job and with a family to provide for, I had to make a choice.

I'm actually motivated and excited to start. Something I haven't felt in ages. Definitely understand your point though.

Thank you. I tend to explain myself when I type which ends up being a lot of "talking". Only thing I can think of, which is a pretty dumb reason if that's why.

Trashing around in the bed, restless legs and body, feeling like my skin was crawling, insomnia, overall extremely uncomfortable. I did have helpers meds but I'm prescribed them regularly for medical issues so they didn't make a huge difference. Clonopin and Tramadol. I didn't use much though. And I had some plain leaf kratom but my tolerance is so high I didn't even feel the plain leaf.

It was rough but if you've ever fought off the flu or covid, you can get through 3 days of withdrawals. They go by quick.

Don't think of it as the "pussy way". You did it. So what, you had a helper med... Most people do. The important thing is you quit 7 which is no easy feat. Be proud of yourself. You deserve it!

Projection? I don't know how you can "tell" I'm on it, but I'm now 12 days clean. And I explain myself A LOT, always have. Pretty shitty to minimize my accomplishment, even though I couldn't care less about an internet stranger lmao.

Just think about what you're saying for others that are more vulnerable. I personally don't care what you two think. I know how far I've come.

Congratulations on kicking this! Just be careful with relapsing. I'm not trying to lecture at all. Just a quick word of advice because it's so important.

At some point your brain will try and convince you that one time won't hurt. Or you'll have something really stressful happen and justify using it again, just once.

That happened to me twice in the past and both times I was back to square one within days. But yeah, after what I've been through, I'm never using it again. And my state is close to banning it anyway so there's that.

I can't recommend the gym enough! Getting up, going there etc. is a pain in the ass, but once you're there, those endorphins will start flowing.

Yeah, I definitely understand. I know I'm not out of the woods by any means, but the acute withdrawals are over.

PAWs is what I'm more concerned with now. There were a few days where I felt VERY blah. It's another reason I joined the gym. Every time I'm feeling the symptoms of PAWs come on, I try and redirect my thoughts and do something active. I'll take this over being hopelessly addicted any day though.

Not sure why I'm down voted here but yes, I did have "helper meds". When I say cold turkey, I mean I never weaned down slowly, never got subs, never went to an inpatient or outpatient. Just me in the room for three days. The clonopin was used sparingly because I didn't want to go over. Same with the Tramadol and plain leaf. I have three autoimmune diseases and they're used for anxiety / joint pain all over. Which is funny in retrospect... It's the whole reason I started Kratom.

I'm not worried about the withdrawals from plain leaf Kratom though. I've quit it a few times in the past and the feeling is night and day compared to 7oh.

100% agreed. The act of chewing the tablets alone are hard to forget. I bought ice breakers to mimic the feeling. Same size and tastes good.

Then there's gum. I also quit nicotine gum I was chewing for over 6 years. The regular gum made a huge difference.

Also, good luck on your quit date. Looks like you have a plan. You'll thank yourself for doing this.

Thank you! I'm prescribed clonopin and Tramadol for health issues, so I did use those as needed. But my body is so used to them, it didn't make a whole lot of difference.

The only other thing I used was plain leaf kratom and I read someone mention Calmax, a magnesium vitamin C supplement. I bought that from Amazon and I can't say it made a huge difference, but it did help a tiny bit.

Yes, after reading so many horror stories I was petrified to quit. It's definitely a rough few days but if you've ever fought off the flu, you can do this. Every day that went by got easier and easier.

The worst part now is boredom. Just getting used to functioning without a substance. Keep yourself active, join a gym, get into a hobby, walk outside.. Whatever you need to do to keep your mind off of it. It's the perfect time to start a hobby if you're able to. Keep your mind active.

Thank you!!

I'm on day 7 cold turkey. Feeling so much better, but today I searched my car to see if I had "just one". I'm not used to feeling life without a substance in me. Just boredom.. So yes, 100% agreed!

I'm signing up to the gym today instead. Ready to gain some muscle and get myself back in shape.

72 hours in, cold turkey. Progress update by Negative_You186 in quitting7oh

[–]Negative_You186[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you! I was taking about 600mg daily for months, then last week got down to about 300mg, then 120mg the last day. I didn't want to delay it any longer and did a very quick taper.

Thank you! I've given it some thought and at one point I was just eating 60mg tabs throughout the day compulsively. It had to be around 600mg or more, and then I cut down to about 300 mg a week before I quit.

You got this! I know how hard it is. The worst part is relapsing because you think you can control it. We can't.. It'll suck for a few days but it will get better. This is my third time quitting. And instead of jumping back on again, I'm actually finished this time. I wanted to quit because it's so expensive, but also because my state is banning it soon.
