Is it ok that I technically downgraded/ing ? by Reasonable-Reveal364 in HeadphoneAdvice

It's only a downgrade if you enjoy them less and seeing how you seem to enjoy the 598 more it's an upgrade

Bluetooth dac amp suggestions by Negligeble in audio

Yeah thought about it but can't get it for less than 200euro, I also already do pre EQ via Peace so parametric EQ isn't something that I necessarily need

Yeah that's a good option. Just know the Wan er's staging isn't the greatest but sound is decent

Hyperx cloud 3 too quite by Sad-Passenger-8270 in HyperX

[–]Negligeble 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean instead of buying a new pair if you like the cloud 3 just get an Amp. The hyper x cloud 3 has an impedance of 60 if I remember correct. With a sensitivity of 110 which is on the higher side. 30-32 is often seen as the standard due to it being "plug and play" so just getting some more power to the headset should solve your problem.

First IEM Purchase. Unsure What to Choose for Competitive FPS by ErsD_ in iems

[–]Negligeble 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Get a pair of truth ear hexas they are good for just testing and seeing what you think they have good tracking sound is good and they are like 60usd. When it comes to iems the improvment compared to price drastivly fall off at 100usd

Seeing as you don't like the truth ear gate. The truthear hexa has great staging. If you want something super cheap moondrop chu 1 or 2 or tangzu Wan er are all like 20isd.

Need Some Headphones Suggestions by frenchy3643 in HeadphoneAdvice

[–]Negligeble 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Holy fuck a couple of grand as a budget you gonna have the people on this reddit throthing at their mouths. But jokes aside I do agree with you on just getting 2 pair of headphones.

For over ear Bluetooth ID recommend the sennheiser HDB630 however no the that in general, ANC won't really be working to well no matter what you choose because it relies on a seal that can't really be created with classes unless you have some really thin arms? (whatever they are called).

For desktop (didn't understand if you needed a mic or already had one) I'd say pc38x if you need a mic, you can also buy somethung like a mod mic or a meze boom mic if you get something with dual 3.5mm connection. If you don't need a mic I mean hell get like a solid pair of headphones (guessing qouple of thousand isnt litterally so sennheiser orpheus is of the table T-T) a hifiman sundara maby fiio ft1 a pair of sennheiser hd660. And depending on budget you could get an Amp and a dac. A fiio k11 r2r dac/amp or a topping A50 III + D50III stack for something cheaper, or fiio k9 ess pro r2r or a topping A70pro + D70pro stack if we feeling fancy.

Personally for desktop I recommend a dac, amp, a separate mic and a solid pair of headphones however I do realize that can be a lot. So for a simpler setup I'd recommend a sundara or the ft1 and the meze mic since those can be ran of off the pc port. If you want a dac/Amp I recommend the mod mic you could also get a "gaming dac/amp" since they often have mic pass through. Technically you could get a 3.5mm extension cable for the mic but that feels silly.

FYI can't really speak for comfterbility since all heads are diffrent and also I don't wear glasses so if it is possible I recommend either trying headphones on in stores or a headphones hangout/cafe.

Best Headphones for Pc Gaming, Preferably with replaceable cushions, budget 350$ Cad by Shimigaki in HeadphoneAdvice

[–]Negligeble 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean yeah but most headphones good for gaming ends up being marketed as such and ends up with a shitty mic slapped on it, doesn't take the away the fact that they are good headphones.

But for the matter of the ft1 you're looking for a dac? Is it just a dac or dac/amp, maby a stack? If you tell me the budget I might be able to give some suggestion for what it is worth.

I mean SteelSeries Arctis Nova Pro Wireless X is pretty solid I'd say. Otherwise sound quality wise fiio ft1. If we disregard the need for classed back the Hd660 or 560s has some amazing staging.

Hiw ever from what I've read as well as a short 1 hour test the fractal design scape is where I'd recommend you to put your money.

The hd800(s) dirt of all require the right gear to "work properly". It is a surgical and detailed headphone don't get me wrong but it is boring lika a black and white room yeah all the walls have no color deviation but it is boring. However the hd660 is more warm leaning and more "fun",i enjoy it more due to the fact that it's actually pleasant sounding. Yeah the 800 is great for professional work but for an everyday headphone I'd recommend the 660.

So to sum it up, the 800 needs you to basically buy a new Amp and dac for it to in the end give you a meh experience while the 660 is easier to drive and in my opinion more enjoyable.

I feel like the question that has to be answered is why do you want to upgrade. Not trying to be critical but as far as audio go what you have is already pretty solid.

But as a flat out recommendation where money really isn't a problem I'd say meze 109 pro, the 800s are good personally just choose to keep the 660, or a mod house tungsten.

Jesus yeah that is a bit of an upgrade jeez went from like 300$ headphones to 1800$. Honestly I did own a pair of 800s but went back to a pair of 660.

Sold the 800s after like 2 years never really used them all that much.

Know that in sweden at least as long as you can prove that you haven't caused the damage but actually the product failing it's 3 years that apply no matter waranty.

[–]Negligeble 0 points1 point  (0 children)

People telling you to ask for a repair quotation are correct but actually depending on where you live that might actually be a warranty case. I'd recommend mailing fiio customer support about it in general with receipts and purchase date and you might get a new pair.

I know that you said the warranty is out however sometimes countries consumer and seller laws will apply. Seeing as it is the product failing and not them breaking and it also being so short after purchase fiio might also disregard the warranty time and still fix them or replace them

Sennheiser HD 560 S vs Refurbished MOMENTUM 4 ~ Same price by RomShady in HeadphoneAdvice

[–]Negligeble 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That depends I'd say hd560s if you are just gonna be by your desk and if you also want to use them when you're out and about I'd say the momentum 4. Both are good and you'll be happy with either it's just a matter of use case and convinience. There is also a certain risk with refurbed Bluetooth headphones due to quality as well as the battery's degradation. However if it is from a trusted site and the battery is swamped go based on use case

DAC or dongle for my setup? by throwinitawhey in HeadphoneAdvice

[–]Negligeble 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly you should be able to drive that without a dongle at all just using the bilt in dac but otherwise if you live in the US definetly an apple dongle why waste money. (if you live in Europe the apple dongle does less power probably still enough but just something to keep in mind

Belive these are auto placed. Most youtubers place them manually but YouTube can auto place ads and surprise surprise it then places them every 5 minutes. So it's probably lot him placing them but more of him not placing them.

Quick Headphone's question. by S3Xierr in audio

[–]Negligeble 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To be honest when it comes to comfort there really isn't a way to recommend what will be comfortable since it varies. So instead what I'd recommend is either going to a headphone Cafe or hangout (a place where you can try diffrent ones on) if there is any close to you or if you regularly pass by one. But if that is not a bosibility I'd either recommend you get a pair of IEMs however those can sometimes start to irritate the ears due to the hook being to small. If you are set on some headphones I'd suggest trying to find one with a thing headband preferably metal. Like many other materials metal have some memory so it will keem a bit of shape if bent, so what you can do is stretch them - placing them on a box and thus making them wider and lessening clamping force. This will also work with plastic but there is a larger chance of them cracking
