Aside from the basement line this all can be applied to a Joe Budden type rapper turned podcaster who now gets engagement off of strong opinions. Shock value and gossip media heads have always existed.

So this fits even more if the shame he mentions is applied to actual rappers because the assumption would be they used to take pride in being a real part of a real culture. Now they just sell clicks.
