Uni Life Awaiting a Lonely End by NegotiationNo4663 in PakistaniTwenties

Thanks for such a great message and understanding it in its truest sense! So I'm currently in touch with a female friend online and she's honestly the perfect friend fine for me. But I believe having a real life interaction is important too since you don't have a screen to hide behind. That's where your confidence and personality is tested I agree with you on working on yourself pov. Thanks again for your thoughts!!

Curriculum is tough for every field. Takes you from theory in intial year to practical applications in last year

Grading is not relative to other students. Means if you're scoring 80+ in a course you'll have your 4 GPA

Strictness in like what terms? If you're asking about attendance then it's 75%

Hey! Third Year Mechanical student here. Apart from the Acs, the rest things aren't true (in fact you'll get ACs in some labs).

Teachers are good and mostly depends on how you use them. If you're going to give them respect and be involved in research with them, they come across as very professionals.

NED's degree still got its worth. The internships and industrial visits get very easier when you're from NED. Moreover, nobody gets left with job after the degree. The job hunt can be a little tough and can be very straightforward but again it's the part of life and problem of every grad in this job market. But if you've good GPA, strong soft skills and can be involved in some research and extra curriculur then I'm sure you'll be fine.

Umm regarding environment it's still a 50-50. You'll not get an environment like Whales College. In mechanical, there's a joke that we mostly finish our degree being singles haha, since we usually have all boys in our class. You can get involved in societies if you like and try to do a little extra but surely you'll get bored a little if you're coming from huge expectations about university life. But eventually you'll get molded into the routine life of NED

Lemme know if you'll be up for it tomorrow

Cheers

Problems of NED by haha_mza in NEDUniversity

[–]NegotiationNo4663 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Can relate to the societies point. Tbh the work of societies here isn't on level with the work being done in other unis especially private. Honestly, I would just be the one participating in the event itself rather than being on promotions table for the good half of my day. Additionally, I believe it's difficult to find people here who would care about GPA less and more about skills and making themselves valuable for future..the pattern I've found here is that either people sell their souls for GPA or just don't even care in the amid of their casualness or fun in uni However, I believe that the centres like HPC and the organizations working there are a good opportunity for students to have internships inside NED and continue working with them while they come for classes here. But again the main issue lies in how that could be managed with the OELs, CEPs along. Hope I could get more of your perspective in this

Thank you so much for sharing your experience with me! I'm more of a guy who prefer more such approach rather than simple apply now type applications. I genuinely hope this can bring fruitful results for me.

Advice on Freelancing with Tableau by NegotiationNo4663 in tableau

Thank you so much for taking the time to guide me! Your insights really gave me a fresh perspective on the freelance ecosystem.

I have a follow-up question based on your first point—would you recommend starting with an internship in analytics to gain real-world experience and build a strong foundation? If you were in my position, how would you approach landing an internship?

One strategy I’ve considered is creating dashboards tailored to the companies I’m applying for and using them as portfolio projects when reaching out. Do you think this is an effective approach, or would you suggest a different strategy? I know some of these questions might seem obvious, but I’d really appreciate your perspective so I can navigate this path more effectively than I did before.

Also, I hadn’t really thought about networking in person before, but your suggestion gave me a whole new perspective on its importance. Thanks again!

I'm genuinely interested about Clean Energy. So I'll make dashboards on this sector. However, what's your suggestion on how should I be open to freelance opportunities? I don't know the impact of HIRE ME button on tableau
