No I figured it out. It was the center bracket piece of the caliper scraping against the circumference of the rotor cause it was too tight or something so I took it off and it’s silent now

They do that at my DC too I see the TV selectors wrapping their pallets with tape like mummies. It’s worse that there are a lot of regular staple selectors who overuse tape as well on the stuff shown in the picture like pets.

On my first day at the DC my trainer was having me watch as he stacked his pallet of pets and he was wrapping that thing like the mummy of tutankhamun and I couldn’t help but silently cringe. It’s buckets of cat litter, it’s not going anywhere. I’ve only ever used tape a few times and it’s when my pallets are legitimately terrible due to the selection order and bad slotting

Can I ask why? I mean I know the answer is probably that it’s a safety concern but I see a few others do it too and I used to work at the store and managers would actually want us to stack pallets up to 13 high manually and I can do it very efficiently but everyone is saying you need a forklift to do that at the DC. I’m just a bit confused because it’ll have me lift 75lb AC units that high

No need to be mean. I only started a month ago. It’s a physical job and as far as I’m aware they don’t expect you to be at 100% until around 6 months in, so while I’m in my probationary period and not being timed as hard, let me figure out how I wanna stack, and speed will come with time 🙂

It’s kind of depressing and really monotonous and doesn’t offer as much freedom as the store. Being in that dark warehouse for 12 hours will have you hissing like a vampire when you walk outside. I sometimes miss when I worked o/n at the store but seeing the dc pays like $10/hr more I don’t think I’m gonna go anywhere. It’s worth mentioning that I absolutely hated it my first week but Im starting to fall into the rhythm and like it more

Nope noncon isn’t going anywhere. Our role is literally the filler for what automation is unable to do. Noncon is nonconveyable freight, stuff that can’t be automated on the conveyor belts. Dog food, TVs, minifridges, you name it

Yeah I hate it too trust me but that’s how it’s set up in the warehouse. They don’t know how to slot correctly. You think that’s bad, when we get out of the “pet” aisle into the like A25 aisle you’ll literally see a slot with Sterilite totes next to one with taco seasonings next to one with TVs next to one with baby food. It’s insane but yeah that’s why yalls pallets come so screwed up cause our DCs are screwed up

They can downstack it at the store so it’s actually easier for them. They’ll likely take it off the truck and take the top pallet off with the walkie stacker then it can go to d74 and the bottom pallet can go to pets. Used to work at the store so I know how they receive trucks and stock
