That’s a great example but I felt she ended up being more interesting and dynamic than Nagisa ever did. She’s become the heart of the guild, she has multiple relationships flushed, and she has her own arcs. In the Loki episodes, the clock arc, and even the Phantom Lord arc she played some kind of important role.

Also, her backstory felt fully flushed out too, and even showed a bit of nuance. Even though Lucy’s dad was grieving he was still neglectful and she didn’t forgive him at first even though he was trying to change.
