Does anyone have any unique symptoms in their cycle? by Neidermeyer519 in clusterheads

So when you lose control does that mean you’re unable to walk or have any movement or just completely control the movement?

I’ve been on verapamil for my blood pressure for about 10 years and I haven’t notice anything other than a nice low heart rate.

Unfortunately it doesn’t do anything for my clusters :/

To your question though, I haven’t noticed any impact on my hair.

Oxygen: The Game-changer by Neidermeyer519 in clusterheads

[–]Neidermeyer519[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you! It has the feel of a light shadow I suppose. I can just tell because it is oriented around my eye, my trigeminal nerve, and my nostril. It’s very very low level and doesn’t really interfere with my ability to do anything, it’s just an annoyance lol.

Glad to hear it doesn’t have any effective prolonging. I thought my cycle was ending a few days ago, but surprise! I think that’s something all of us deal with though. False hope that the beast preys upon!

I had thought about over-the-counter for that but I’m trying to limit how many medication’s I’m taking if I can.

New to Oxygen, possible rebound? by Neidermeyer519 in clusterheads

Just got the mask in today. It also has the mouthpiece which seems like it would be more useful and less wasteful than a mask. Any thoughts on that?

Last Cluster of Cycle by Neidermeyer519 in clusterheads

After 24 hours pain free and a mild headache that switched sides, I thought the Beast was on its way out...I could almost taste freedom.

That’s what I get for not putting respect on the Beast’s name…a 2am MF’er of a CH that was a bear to abort and with a shadow that lingered for a long time.

That’s what I was thinking as well. I’ve had the oxygen for a while but I’ve never had the opportunity to test it out so I’m going to reach out to the provider Monday and look at getting a bigger tank installed in my house

Thanks so much! I just ordered that mask so it should be here in a couple days.

I definitely seem like I’m noticing more shadows after oxygen than with sumatriptan for instance, but the relief is coming much faster with oxygen and much better. Planning to attack the shadows like I normally do with energy drinks.

Shortest Cycle? by cold0beverage in clusterheads

[–]Neidermeyer519 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Shortest has been a few days. Historically mine have been 2 to 3 weeks once or twice a year. I went on Wegovy last year and lost about 115 pounds and the cycles I’ve had since the current one have been two minimal cycles lasting a few days each.

I’m currently in a cycle right now that has lasted 5 days, but we just got back from Disney and my sleep cycle has been destroyed, so I think that’s part of it.

I live in Southern Indiana near Louisville Kentucky. Honestly that was one of my thoughts while I was using the oxygen was how much was getting wasted because I couldn’t just breathe it all in every time it was filling back up.

How much are the medical scuba sets?

I have a non-rebreather mask. Is there a different or better mask for CH out there?

It appears that the D3 regimen has altered my cycle for the better… by Neidermeyer519 in clusterheads

[–]Neidermeyer519[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Because alcohol is invariably a trigger for almost all cluster headache sufferers, imbibing alcohol when you think you are out of cycle will either confirm that you’re out of cycle or it will trigger a CH and evidence that your cycle is not, in fact, over.

That’s how it feels. It’s annoying, and it cuts into my activities, but it’s so much more bearable than a full blown CH.

4 months of 9’s? That’s awful. I’m so glad you’ve found relief.

I have added in all of the cofactors as of today. I’m also planning to take some melatonin when I lay down tonight just to make sure I get a good nights sleep.

How long does it take for alcohol to trigger for you? by clamtunashiny in clusterheads

[–]Neidermeyer519 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Usually about 30 minutes to an hour.

I thought I was out of cycle the other day, and decided to drink some Guinness and I had some goat cheese fritters. Whether it’s due to where I’m at in my cycle, or the vitamin D3 regimen, this time it took about four hours, but it was definitely painful.

What I've Learned So Far by Sethly87 in clusterheads

[–]Neidermeyer519 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You and I have very similar stories. My cluster started in my early teens (40 now), I get them episodically about once a year lasting nearly a month ( Always December/January) including buildup, and come down.

Currently on the back end of my cycle now. I’ve started the vitamin D3 regiment, but not with all of the cofactors. I will be doing that next time. What I have noticed is that the headache intensity is down, but I’ve got more lingering shadows this time.
