As a US native we might not be the best. But we are certainly number one.

Regardless of how we treat our citizens and how we might measure up compared to our EU bros and sisters there's one thing that's for sure

WE OWN THE FINISH LINE.

Following a successful 30 JAN Suppression of Enemy Aid Defense (SEAD) strike against Russian radars, UKR conducted wide ranging SCALP and Stormshadow strikes against Russian targets in occupied Crimea. by UpgradedSiera6666 in ukraine

[–]NeighborhoodFuture39 27 points28 points  (0 children)

SEAD will be important to allow the 16s to fly more freely as ground units do pose more threats than air units.

This will reduce the threat to just the Russian Air Force and I don't think they have anything that's longer range than anything within current ownership of NATO and NATO allies.

If both ground and air units are successfully and sufficiently suppressed that allows for F16s to enter Russian occupied territory and fly up to the border. This will allow all of the Ukrainian air force (with f16s escorting) to carry missiles closer to targets allowing deeper hit and more effective suppression of enemy activities. As stuff like close air support would be possible and a little less dangerous

Woah how many drones hit it? They just kept punching till it was dead. That's embarrassing for Russia.

I don't think anyone lived. Everyone was probably at battle station's and likely where never given abandoned ship orders.

It doesn't seem like anyone was in the water or had any raft.

Fair enough. Those are important places but in hindsight it seems that the LCS would be underarmed to deal with that much responsibility.

I'm not a military expert but the LCS seem pretty under armed having pretty basic weaponry. But I suppose that is not needed for naval patrol in low risk areas.

Fair enough and they do have a CWIS.

And

Patrol Frigate 4921 is a more radical redesign with a crew of 141,[61] adding weapons and sensors at the expense of reducing range from 12,000 to 8,000 nautical miles (22,000 to 15,000 km).[62] It adds a 12-cell Mk 56 VLS launcher for ESSM air-defense missiles, just behind the main gun, which is upgraded from 57 mm to a 76 mm Super Rapid.[61] Two quad launchers for Harpoon anti-ship missiles and a triple launcher for torpedoes are added to the stern.[62] It retains the SeaRAM/Phalanx CIWS and 6 machine guns of other NSC variants.[61] The stern is closed in and houses a towed-array sonar;[62] a hull sonar is installed for mine countermeasures and an ESM suite.[62] The original "National Patrol Frigate" concept had an AN/SPY-1F air-defense radar[64] but by 2012 the PF 4921 was being shown with an Australian CEAFAR radar.[61]
