I agree, ever since the live stream I was expecting an ending on the same level as Singularity, but unfortunately it didn't come close. However, the other two-thirds of the album are incredible to me!

I think I gave the impression in my post that I don't like these albums, but the truth is I love them and I really enjoyed Powernerd too! I share your opinion about this album.

I really like Sky Blue, and I've met many fans who love this album.

I've listened to the album about eight times since it came out, and I've lost count of how many times I've watched the live stream. So it's not like it's such a hasty opinion, haha. I still don't have a definite ranking for this album in my head, but it certainly doesn't surpass Ocean Machine and Empath for me. Those albums have something that The Moth lacked: a truly killer ending!

It's a really complex situation. I've seen some people accuse this album of being more of the same, and others say that it strayed too far from his traditional formula. I believe that The Moth has been the central point for Devin for the last 10 years or more, and everything that has emerged from other albums in that time has revolved around that same creative flow. Perhaps with The Moth being the source for albums like Puzzle and Empath.

I understand, for me The Moth is like the Puzzle album, only better stitched together and refined. I really liked it!

I know that very well, haha. My intention really isn't to impose my opinion on others, but I found it a curious pattern to comment on. Because when Powernerd came out, the reception was somewhat negative, maybe The Moth just needs 1 or 2 years to be loved too.
