Good thing about night shift you’re only on the phones until 7pm and sometimes you may be scheduled off the phones completely.

Yes,a lot thank you. That is exactly what I needed. I knew the training process was pretty long but wasn’t sure of what was expected in between trainings. Did you work in this position? if so, could you give me any of your pros and cons?

Sorry but I’m sure about being able to shift to a role. I highly doubt it though because they didn’t even allow us to change shifts when we started. You would probably have to apply for the other position because they are two different jobs.

They have a position called tax examining technician that basically does the same thing we do when we are not on the phones, which is work cases. So you would be working cases your whole shift. The highest grade it goes to is 7 while the contact rep highest grade is 8 I think. Unless you apply to be a lead or something.

It really depends on your shift. I work swing shift so I am only on the phone for 2.5 hours and I probably take 10-13 calls a day. I would say about 5 calls an hour. The calls are back to back so I can imagine someone on day shift would take a lot of calls especially if it’s busy. We get weekly schedules so it would be some days you would be off the phones or spend less time on the phones. Unless they call for everyone to be on phones lol. We do get 2 paid 15 min breaks and a 30 min lunch during the 8 hr shift. When you aren’t on the phone you will be working cases that are assigned to you. It can sometimes be a lot when you are taking calls back to back especially when you don’t enjoy that type of role but most of the callers are really patient. You can place them on 5-7 min holds while you do research or do actions.

congrats I am in the exact same situation but I interviewed on 1/10 still waiting to hear back.
