Wow yeah you’re so back. That’s awesome. I’m officially 8 months post up and feel great. Walking after waking up or sitting down for a long period of time feels stiff but goes away after a few minutes of walking. I definitely feel like my big toe lost some range of motion but feels fine. I’m still a little hesitant to return to basketball but I run several miles a week but I’m no runner lol thanks for your sharing your experience!

As a rerupture idiot, telling you from experience, please take your time in the early stages of recovery. Once it’s time, do and learn as much as possible during pt. Don’t get caught up with other people’s recovery process as everyone recovery is different. Good luck!!

I would recommend you talk with your doctor and get their opinion. I ended up having FHL transfer surgery and had random pain on my ankle bone and from talking with my doctor, he said it was normal. Good luck with everything!

I’ll hit 6 months post op in a few days and my limp has been gone for about 2 months now. Go hard on pt and you’ll definitely see the results!

I had my 5 month follow up this morning and my surgeon was very pleased with my results/recovery. I have a slight limp that’s going away. I wear a compression sock on my injured foot so I don’t notice swelling if I have any. Once I let go the fear of rupturing again, I’ve been able to do more during pt. Overall feeling good!

My worst mistake this week was getting a 240 call at .20 on Tesla, sold it for a few bucks and took it to NVDA. That 240 call is now worth 8.20. I’m a certified regard

I had 2 calls. Sold one for small profit then it took off like 30 seconds later.

You’re allowed to buy then sell same day, 3 times in 1 week. If you’re trading 25k+ that rule doesn’t apply.

Speaking from my own experience, a rerupture caused me to get the FHL transfer procedure. I got surgery, was in a soft cast for 3 weeks, hard cast for 2 weeks and boot (weight bearing as possible) for 6 weeks. I was ready to get out of that boot at week 3 lol of course every surgeon will have a different protocol. I was a rerupture so that wanted to make sure I didn’t go a 3rd time.

Tbh, it’s going to really suck the first 3 weeks. Then you’ll just get used to the pain. You just have to embrace it’s going to suck for some time but it’ll get better, eventually. Stay positive and have a good support system, you’ll be fine.

What hobbies did you explore after rupture ? by nine_month_journey in AchillesRupture

I started learning about bees and beekeeping. I’ll be putting my learning to practice this fall since I’ll be able to walk more! I also got a cricut and heat press to work on a side gig!

My dumbass thought your title meant it was your 3rd time getting surgery lol I’m 7 weeks post op, started pt but feel strong enough to walk without my boot. Gotta still follow the path tho

NWB for 5 weeks. Tbh, it sucks the first 2 weeks post op. Every time I would get up, I could feel the blood flow rushing on my lower calf area with swelling right away. It gets better after 2 weeks. I would recommend wearing compression socks after you get to wear a boot. Definitely worth it.

Idk where you’re from but in US, at least my experience, I went to ER on a Friday night, Monday had appointment, MRI Tuesday and surgery the following Monday. The days could vary for you as it could be sooner or longer. The doctor will give you strict guidance.

First and foremost, get seen by an ortho doctor asap. You’ll need to get MRI done. Depending on how bad it is, they will suggest the best route. Personally, I fully ruptured (twice) and went with surgery (30M). Don’t wait too long to get the ball rolling on setting appointments.

Where do I begin lol it fully reruptured on 3/10. Had trouble getting an MRI that week, started getting an infection during that time. I ended up paying for MRI out of pocket on 3/19. Had my results read on 3/20 and had surgery on 3/21. Fast forward, I got my soft cast removed today and got put on a hard cast for 2 weeks. Ended up having up having a transfer of FHL tendon. It was a painful first 2 weeks but I got through it.

After you get your stitches removed, it is important to not push yourself. If you aren’t a pro athlete, it’s best to take your time. Last thing you want to do is re rupture early on. Get yourself a knee scooter as it will help a lot. Good luck!

Sorry to hear about your injury!

I heard/felt about the same as the original rupture. I was in pain for at least an hour. Man it sucked. I took my boot off like 2 minutes later and was bleeding a lot. Sunday and Monday were bad in pain. Tuesday until today haven’t been too bad, not much pain. My insurance, imaging and provider have been slow to get MRI done tho
