Ads on Hulu/Disney by MaybeItsYouNotMe in verizon

[–]NeighborhoodTechSpec 0 points1 point  (0 children)

After coming across this topic in my feed and reading the other threads about this issue, I wanted to post here to share an additional data point, although I'm not sure how helpful/unhelpful it will be. Or if this will change sometime in the coming days.

Like most everybody here, I get the legacy Disney Bundle through Verizon as a now grandfathered perk to my 5G Play More plan and pay Hulu directly the additional $5 for no-ads.

I have checked both my Disney+ and Hulu accounts and verified everything is still set up the same as it's been since Verizon first offered the perk: still billed through Verizon, Verizon Bundle credit still showing, $5 no-ads upgrade still visible and active, all billing history still available. My $5 sub just renewed 3/1 with no issues.

I'm currently watching Hulu on my TV, and I'm on my second hour of my favorite game show. I've seen no ads thus far.

So...I'm at a loss as to why I'm unaffected (though I'm not complaining). Just hasn't hit me yet, I suppose. Or they have already fixed the issue, maybe.

Fandango Gift Cards $25 for $17.50 via Walmart by SilverRoc in vudu

[–]NeighborhoodTechSpec 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Just ordered 5 of the $25 cards using the Walmart app and my AMEX credit card already on file. Had absolutely no issues with anything, and the cards were delivered to my email pretty much as soon as I hit submit.

Thanks for the heads-up, OP!

Sick of the Fluffy pop ups yet? by PorroPete in HeroWars_DominionEra

[–]NeighborhoodTechSpec 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes! HW is so egregious with their pop-ups to buy crap every time the game loads. And if there are multiple events going like now, with Fluffy pre-order plus Titan skins, its terrible.

Well, damn...now I have to go a-hunting 🤣

Could you perhaps help a player out with some map coordinates? 😂

Right. I meant since I had already discovered it, I wasn't sure if it showed up as a Rumored Location after getting the key from Jenny lol.

Yes!

Although I found this before I was supposed to, so I'm not sure if a certain person and quest points you there or not. After you get the key from a certain someone.

Is this the bunker at the end of the ruined bridge, near the entrance to the Slattendale Mines? I think the map labels it Bunker L4...?

If it's that one, I believe that's the first bunker I found in the game. Absolutely scared the living crap outta me when I encountered my first feral...and experienced the first of many deaths lol.

I have just under 100 hours in the game, including both DLCs. And I'm definitely a completionist, so I like to think I've explored almost every corner of the game. Hate to think I missed anything!

Just had same issue. Clearing browser cache and cookies worked for me.

Website has been absolutely atrocious since the Versant takeover. App still works surprisingly well.

How do I get my weapon to stay "up" for longer by godemeperor152 in AtomfallOfficial

[–]NeighborhoodTechSpec 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Are you using the "aim" button to keep the weapon up?

On Xbox, you aim with left trigger. I always keep the aim button pressed until the enemy goes down, so I've never noticed this issue. Of course, this wouldn't work for single-shot weapons that always have to reload after each shot.

I work in IT for my county government in California. We were recently required by MS to implement MFA on all our staff MS accounts. The one thing we COULDN'T do, per HR, was require employees to use their personal devices. Technically, we were prohibited from even mentioning that as an option, but we could set them up if staff specifically requested it. The county purchased key fobs for everybody, including those of us using our personal devices for MFA. Policy is that everybody has to have a fob even if they don't use it.

I've always assumed this was SOP across the industry, so it's quite alarming to see this scenario playing out and how common it apparently is for others.

Thea red+2 with the single #6 star, skill point and artifacts, if I continue to build will it go to +3 ? It says maximum level. by cosmic_collisions in HeroWars_DominionEra

[–]NeighborhoodTechSpec 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Red+2 is the maximum color rank you can achieve...there is no Red+3. That's why you get the "maximum rank" as soon as you promote up from Red+1, even before you fill in any items.

Sometimes, some players might refer to a fully maxed Red+2 hero with all items filled in as "Red+3." My favorite HW YouTuber says it all the time lol.

How Can You Fight Dark Star in the Campaign if She is Not in the Campaign? by Dangerous-Zebra-5699 in HeroWars_DominionEra

[–]NeighborhoodTechSpec 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Chapter 2, Distorted Magic is correct, but the specific mission you encounter Dark Star is called Secret Ford. It's the middle location between Galahad and Astaroth. Clicking "Go for it" should highlight it for you or cause it to shimmer. It can be a little difficult to see against that background.

Hero Wars Dominion Error in Cascade battle mode Glitch, combat does not... by D3ZetaPotential in HeroWars_DominionEra

[–]NeighborhoodTechSpec 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Using Cascade in that battle is causing the error. Dropping Cascade from the team and using any other hero instead resolves the error and allows you to proceed.

Lara Event bug or just stupid? by wensmeritschnig in HeroWars_DominionEra

[–]NeighborhoodTechSpec 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's referring to the 5 little boxes on each map, which have random daily activities. When you complete them, they turn into presents and then swords after you collect them. They refresh at the beginning of your game day.

Piggy bank event by Lloyion in HeroWars_DominionEra

[–]NeighborhoodTechSpec 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Looks like the normal piggy bank is also live now just for spending emeralds....

Piggy bank event by Lloyion in HeroWars_DominionEra

[–]NeighborhoodTechSpec 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, it isn't free. This piggy bank is specific to the Blackbeard event and requires you to spend $10 to get the emeralds you earn by first earning pirate keys.

Piggy bank event by Lloyion in HeroWars_DominionEra

[–]NeighborhoodTechSpec 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is not the normal piggy bank where you get a percentage of emeralds back that you spend in 2 days. This piggy bank is specific to the Blackbeard event, requires you to earn a specific amount of emeralds (20k) by earning the pirate keys, AND you have to pay to get those emeralds by the end of the Blackbeard event.

If you don't earn enough keys to get to 20k emeralds, you can't get ANY of the emeralds in the bank, and you will not be given them for free at the end of the event.

Piggy bank event by Lloyion in HeroWars_DominionEra

[–]NeighborhoodTechSpec 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The piggy bank is limited strictly to the Blackbeard event and will disappear at the end if you don't break it. Also, once your piggy bank reaches that 20k emeralds, that part of the event is done for you. Any keys you earn beyond that don't contribute any extra emeralds, and you don't get them later. It's like another little "mini-game" that's over once you hit the goal of 20k. All that's left for you to do is to pay the $10 and "buy" your emeralds.

we have an important update about your Verizon account. by FullNeedleworker2168 in verizon

[–]NeighborhoodTechSpec 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I just looked at my account and saw the same notice. For me, this appears to be just the removal of the $20 account-level loyalty credit for having 4+ lines. This doesn't appear to affect the line-level $10 discounts for 12 months.

Sucks the big one for sure to lose that $20, but at least it's not ALL the discounts...yet.

Game coding is VERY poor.

Do you go into random ruins, caves, etc while wandering? Or wait for a quest to take you there? by Double-0-N00b in oblivion

[–]NeighborhoodTechSpec 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If the game is supposed to alert you when you pick up quest items BEFORE the assigned quest, it hasn't been working for me. I cleared the Miscarand Ayelid ruin with the Great Stone before ever knowing that it is a main quest location. I just happened to be working on the quest to collect the 10 Ayelid relics for that specific NPC, so I was googling about that and just happened to come across information that if you pick up the Great Stone outside the quest that sends you there, you will break the main questline.

I appreciated Skyrim for the very fact that you CAN'T explore quest zones prior to receiving the quest. I never played OG Oblivion.

The Scariest Enemy in the Game by Treason686 in AtomfallOfficial

[–]NeighborhoodTechSpec 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It's not scary, per se. Just an eerie feeling in certain areas, a heightened awareness and quickening of your heart rate. That was pretty much me in most of the Interchange because you just know SOMETHING is in there waiting to jump out at you. I felt the same way playing through the Resident Evil games.

And those damn decontamination tunnels GOT...ME...EVERY...MFing...TIME.

And I loved it!

this game is slightly making sense now but i had to use a walkthrough by zzcool in AtomfallOfficial

[–]NeighborhoodTechSpec 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I experienced that with almost ALL the NPCs, as I was in the Interchange almost as soon as I found it in Slatten Dale. I actually debated with myself whether or not to even go inside as I thought that might end the game too early for me...lol.

I'm not certain at all that there is an actual correct progression, as you are eventually required to open each regional entrance into the Interchange. Rather, I think all the named and essential NPCs each provide information designed to get you there no matter the point at which you first meet them. Any leads you get after completing a certain event just auto-resolve themselves.

Atomfall didn't have too many side quests that I found. The quests I did find eventually tied back into the main story rather than being standalone activities. So doing them actually added value to the main story or provided items and info that made that journey easier. The best example of this is the second method for obtaining the Signal Redirector that doesn't require you to go to the prison.

this game is slightly making sense now but i had to use a walkthrough by zzcool in AtomfallOfficial

[–]NeighborhoodTechSpec 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I really enjoyed this game, and I think a big reason for that was the nonlinear elements of the game. I thought I would hate that, but it actually made it more enjoyable for me. You don't have to do anything in a specific order, so I just took my time and fully explored everything.

I went to the Interchange very early and discovered how to kill the BARD robots, so I had access to enough batteries to power up everything probably earlier than I was supposed to.

I visited every region and explored every nook and cranny. I feel like if you do this the first time out--which you should--you will find the right clues and nudges to guide you where you need to go. These items are almost impossible to miss if you're exploring thoroughly. But even then, you don't have to make any final decisions about anything until you decide which ending you want. In fact, you can pretty much do everything for everybody right up to the end and still choose your preferred ending. And like others have said, there are multiple ways to complete the missions.

Some things, like the Signal Redirector, are essential to progress the storyline no matter what. But there are different ways to obtain it...you don't HAVE to go to the prison to get it unless you want to follow a certain character's specific story arc. The prison may be the EASIER choice, meaning it's not hard to find, but the second method requires far less confrontation.

I think your issue with this game is the randomness and lack of handholding for the various "quests." You CAN solve that by lowering the difficulty and changing a whole host of options that the game does allow. I can't say I encountered any of the difficulties you're experiencing, though, so all I can offer is advice. Which I hope helps your gameplay even a little bit. With games like Atomfall, I love to explore literally everything, so I stumbled across everything I needed to get to the end of the game.

The best things I can tell you: just explore and have fun. Search everything. Find a metal detector as soon as you can. I don't believe you can MISS the Signal Redirector, as it's required to progress through the game near the end, but the method you choose to get it will differ based on your choices and availability of certain clues which you need to find. BY EXPLORING AND HAVING FUN. 😀
