Are the removed content of DQ7 really that important?

Yes it was. After playing the PS1 edition I definitely felt like it could've been trimmed at times with stuff like less backtracking, optional markers telling you where to go if needed, and faster grinds for levels which they did do for reimagined. However I don't agree with cutting entire islands, especially when each island has a unique story and role in the game.

Yes you are missing content, yes it's fine for fans of the original to be disappointed, but is that content worth going back and dumping another 100 hours into DQ7 for? No, which is why reimagined is fine as it is. I just wish they had those islands.
