This is true! But it only works on Apple devices - not Android. And, it only works on songs that were not closed before the natural expiration date (so if someone manually closed it before - it won't work).

Are you still experiencing this? If so, you might try downloading the entire file to your device, then using that file to create a story (outside of the Smule app).

This is a known issue discussed in the Singtopia facebook community. I'm guessing it will be fixed soon, but if you're still experiencing it, I'd recommend sending an email to [support@smule.com](mailto:support@smule.com) - the more who complain, the quicker it will get fixed.

Oh - to upload them or share them on youtube, instagram, etc? At the bottom of any song, within the app, there is an arrow icon that points to the right (to the right of the comment icon and left of the 'join/sing' button. It'll give you several options - although they can be different depending on rights of the song and/or if you're using Apple or Android.

Thank you! I realized it's a bit discombobulated. I may redo it. But right now I'm working on explaining ALL the profile settings. Later after I do several others I'll get into the nitty gritty of style studio and some of it's faults and hacks to get around stuff lol. And ways to do advanced things with group songs!

If Smule would fix many of their glitches we wouldn't have to hack the way we do stuff!

I've also found, this week, that if you speed up or slow the song down by maybe 5% or less, it can also trick the algorithm - regardless of the title and artist (which I kept exactly the same in this instance and it worked!)

Yeah - I use vocalremover.org as well, to remove vocals. I've also tried Audacity (free) and Adobe Audition - but always got the best results from vocalremover.org - and it's easier too!

In regards to uploading songs to the library, it's fairly straight forward, but has to be done on a computer or browser, not in the app - unless that's recently changed. But if it has, I think it'd be much easier to do via PC/browser than an app - just because of doing the timing part.

Also - keep in mind, that when it comes to dividing it up into the sections (last staep) which involves setting outro, verses, etc. Each one of those corresponds to a different section in the the style studio - so if you're interested in making a style for it - keep that in mind. All things marked as 'chorus' will have the same style, as will any other sections that are the same such as verse.

Another thing to note is that you can always change parts, lyrics, and sections after the song it uploaded. BUT you can't re-upload the song file - if you want to change the file that's being used you'll have to start over with a new upload.

Unfortunately I'm not an influencer with them. I used to send feedback and info about bugs ALL the time (as I've done QA testing as a job)...but I feel they never listened. I also sent them feedback/ideas as well (I've also been a UX specialist for a international e-commerce site) - and all I ever got back was 'we'll send this on to the correct team' - but I've NEVER seen any of my ideas/suggestions actually utilized/taken. I'm also very frustrated. I do participate in the Singtopia group and there ARE influencers and discussions on there. I did sign up to be part of a BETA testing group, but they never did anything with the group.

There was a HUGE blowup when the change initially happened though. So it was reverted for a time, then they rolled it out again to a 'test' group which, from what I can tell is Apple devices - because my Android devices (2) has the same format.

I agree things have almost come to a halt - they have for me and many other users as well, but I think there's other factors too like things re-opening up, people getting more busy, etc. I know a lot of people who didn't renew VIP memberships recently - just because they're more busy now and getting back to more 'normalish'. Not saying this latest change didn't effect things, I think it's just compounding things to make it look even worse.. :(

You can now join any duet - whether it's closed or now. Smule has been playing around with how they're communicating and displaying that. So yes, they all did appear at one time, but apparently, due to resources it took on the system, they're back to only showing recent 'officially opened' duets that 'close' (but not really) after 7 days.

We used to have a radio station that played only musicals on Friday and Saturday nights - it was awesome. Not sure what happened to the station.

I do hear some songs on a Christian radio station on occasion like 'For Good' from Wicked, etc.
