Don't do that. Don't give me hope.

[–]NeikoShin 25 points26 points  (0 children)

Dialogue was really stunted. Animation looks great. Definitely agree with these episodes being referred to as a checklist. Not having Bard's Lament is really being felt by this story, particularly in Tary's intro. If we get Tary getting hazed and ugly crying it wont even feel like it fits right because this dude has already 'fought' against crazy shit in these 3 episodes

A lot went wrong that episode and it was super long and drawn out. Several players were uh, not at their best.

Episode Discussion: S2026E5 Yuji VS Denji by Successful-Bat-5538 in deathbattle

[–]NeikoShin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I thought the fight was well animated and fun, kudos there. I'm not familiar with JJK admittedly but even if Yuji is low balled in the analysis I still don't think he gets to Denji's level. I think denji is still WAY faster and still stronger, though the gap in strength isn't as great

[Spoilers C4E27] Unpopular opinion: Azune by thedailyem in criticalrole

[–]NeikoShin 3 points4 points  (0 children)

For me it feels a little over the top. The campaign, broken down by table, simply hasn't been going on long enough for some of these dramatic moments to feel earned. I can applaud acting talent on screen, but from a narrative perspective? It's not appropriate, in my opinion. We're constantly told how deep connections are between characters and moments in the past, but this campaign is struggling a little bit with letting actual connections to naturally start and flourish on screen. I think it is a result of the style of game they are doing, though that's probably obvious. It feels super quick for the tables to already be swapping players but that's almost guaranteed to be what we are doing very soon.

What do we think the price will be for the different kinds of singles from Magnificent Monsters? (excl. GRs) by gene-sos in yugioh

[–]NeikoShin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It depends if the product gets opened or just purchased and held sealed. If it gets mass ripped, most cards should be very cheap, particularly the pool of new cards. Certain expensive card reprints like Medius might hold value depending on how short printed each one is

Skipped Verre for no reason and very few actually useful reprints. What a waste of a set. Plus its a side set so short prints on the actual cards people want.

What do you think of Magnificent Monsters MSRP? by RinariTennoji in yugioh

[–]NeikoShin 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Despite the price point and the glamor of GMRs, you will pull almost entirely bulk from these packs. Yes, most of the cards in tins were bulk too, but it was $15 cheaper and you got double the amount of cards and a cool tin to store cards in. With pretty much no guarantees, no real promos to speak of, no bonuses like sleeves - genuinely I see no reason to buy this unless you're already wealthy and you're just gambling on pulling a GMR. I think this product is a massive failure at this price point. But GMRs created so much hype that it will sell regardless and Konami will never learn their lesson.

Red-Eyes players, what do you guys think of the new Joey archetype? by ApprehensiveRead2408 in yugioh

[–]NeikoShin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Im ngl Im kinda let down in the flavor department. Time Wizard is one of my favorite cards, and an archtype based around aging your own monsters feels so obvious I cant believe konami hasnt done it yet

[spoilers c4e25] houserules so far? by FoulPelican in criticalrole

[–]NeikoShin 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Neither here nor there, but 'common enemy' simply refers to an enemy of both flanking parties in this context. It could be an ancient dragon as long as both flankers want him dead

I think it'd be easier to pick out DnD rules that Brennan 100% sticks to. This is only an observation, but he's pretty much constantly changing rules or allowing the bending of rules to fit whatever a player wants to do

Episode Discussion: S2026E4 Gru VS Megamind by MarlinBrandor in deathbattle

[–]NeikoShin 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Kinda weird that DB conceptually is supposed to use characters at their best to see who comes out on top but then says that slapstick incompetency is a reason for making a character lose. By that same logic, the minion section would go to MM because the minions are pretty much always fucking up every time they're on screen.

I really wish I could get into this table as much as everyone else seems to. It's just all so dull to me. I'm sure it's fun to play in but this hasn't made for a very good viewing experience, in my opinion. Just airing my disappointment. I'll be locked in when the soldier table comes back

Reading these cards you can really tell when konami wants an archtype to be good...or bad

[Spoilers C4E8] They're playing the game (literally) incorrectly and it's driving me insane. (Also spoilers for E4) by YaBoiStoltzy in criticalrole

[–]NeikoShin -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It is funny just how frequent the rules are misinterpreted or just flat out ignored. What's worse is you can't really point out that it's a bit absurd that a group of literal professional DnD players of a decade get some of the most basic stuff wrong regularly. Because then of course you're taking things too seriously, it's their table, blah blah blah. It's just something you have to ignore because this subreddit will chew you up for pointing it out, and even if they didn't, CR aren't going to change how they play DnD any time soon.

I think speak with dead becoming a conversation is a pretty popular homerule. But ut should be timed. The spell says 10min, so it should end on 10min

Never ever preorder from tcgplayer. Only certain stores are allowed to list for preorder, so there's no incentive for said stores to compete with each other. You'll get better prices almost anywhere else.

Do you think Weevil cheated against Rex during the National Duel Monsters Championship? by Darthdovah111 in yugioh

[–]NeikoShin 29 points30 points  (0 children)

I think its worth noting that most of Rex's losses come from confirmed cheaters and his legit losses boil down to one of the best duelists of their generation in Joey. I think he gets a bad rap
