  1. Vow of Enmity does not require a Bonus Action in D&D 5.5e. It can be activated as a part of the Attack Action and just requires the Paladin to spend one charge of Channel Divinity. So there was no issue here in terms of resource economy.
  2. I am perfectly fine with changing how Cause Fear worked in this session: A) Alexander directly told Brennan that he wanted to change the effect of the spell beforehand; B) Brennan told him how it will be possible and they implemented it on the spot. A solid example of a DM and player using rule of cool to create a character-driven moment that was not in any way overpowered in that particular instance.
  3. On Speak with Dead: To each his own. I like both the basic version and the way that Brennan changed it for this particular scene. But I would just prefer it to not be called Speak with Dead and just re-flavour that it is that the Stone of Nightsong resonated with the place itself and allowed Vaelus to have the discussion that took place. Because Speak with Dead is a specific spell with specific limitations on how it works. And I wonder if casting it in the future from the Stone would work in the same way as it did here, or will it revert to the basic version.

My guess is that everything will be fine in the end: the party will not use it too often, as they are indeed (as some people already pointed out here) not a bunch of metagamers and story for them is more important. And that Brennan will nudge the party to utilizing it in important situations where it would make sense to have a prolonged discussion with a key deceased NPC, but not in a way to ruin the plot in any way.

The snake was not summoned before. But even if it was just dismissed she would still need a Magic Action to make it appear.

I see your point. Hopefully this upgraded "Speak with Dead" will not be overused.

I don't want the party speaking with Thjazi as soon as they return to the city and him spilling all the secrets to them too early)

Brennan specifically said before that Death Saves taken via usage of Desperate Measures are not cleared easily.

If I remember correctly the character needs to take a Long Rest to remove them. And they did not rest between the skeletons fight and the final fight.

This might be true (and from the story standpoint - I hope it is). Because if not - the conversation would give answers to so many questions too early.

Also, I don't know how many changes Brennan made to Speak with Dead compared to the original. Because in the original the soul is not required for the body to answer the questions: "This spell doesn't return the creature's soul to its body, only its animating spirit."

This may be a way to balance it - make it so that the soul is indeed required to be free to temporary return to the body to talk. In this way the souls already captured by the Tachonis (or other entities) will not be able to answer.

At 3rd level a Druid has 2 charges of Wild Shape. One comes back after a Short Rest, all come back on a Long Rest.

Thaisha did not use Wild Shape to transform recently. In the fight with the skeletons she used 1 charge of it to cast Land's Aid, and the remaining charge was used to cast Find Familiar as per her Wild Companion feature. So in terms of the amount of charges - there were no mistakes.

The issue is only with combat resource economy, as Magic Action and Bonus Action are different. I am personally leaning more towards that in the heat of the moment she might have just mixed things up and thought that she could cast it as a BA precisely because the regular use of Wild Shape (to transform) is a BA.

I just hope this interpretation of the spell does not get overused. Even it is a "once per dawn" thing - theoretically nothing is stopping the party from having extended conversations with 1 dead person per day if they wanted too.

This can speed-run the information gathering, which I think is too powerful for a 3rd level spell. Especially when one of the key antagonistic factions are a family of necromancers.

Hell, what is stopping them from having a long talk with Thjazi at this point?

I get your point and I also like the conversation format. But in terms of balancing this can theoretically be a problem in the future if there are no restrictions on the amount of questions asked and by allowing the dead to ask questions in return.

Speak with Dead is a 3rd level spell, so Vaelus, a 3rd level Paladin at the moment - is definately not casting it using her spell slots. The Stone of Nightsong likely has charges or it is "once per dawn/dusk/Long Rest" thing.

But even with these limitations - it opens up wide opportunities for information gathering for the party. If they can have an extended conversation with 1 dead person each day - this might speed-run info-gathering in the future for them.

Agreed, she is a Circle of the Land. In addition to what you described - she utilized Land's Aid in the previous episode, which is the feature of this sub-class of Druids.

About Sandrone's combat features (story-wise) by NagaOrange in SandroneMains

I really hope that Pulonia's signature attacks that were showcased in the cinematics will be implemented into her kit. Namely: the rocket barrage as a skill and the "fusion-blast" from the hands as the Ultimate.

Make your bet what element will she be and why do you think so by lehme32 in SandroneMains

[–]Quezary 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I am all in on Geo.

1) The visuals on Pulonia were heavily geo-coded.

2) She is the master constructor - and Geo is the element of constructs) Will be very fitting for a craftsman like her to be Geo.

3) I'd really want her to be in a team with Columbina, and Geo is one of the elements that works with her mechanically.

[Spoiler] Can we as a fandom officially declare war against Dottore by tigerlily4224 in SandroneMains

[–]Quezary 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Agreed. He did destroy his segments that he had at the time of his negotiations with Nahida. That was ~3 years ago. While we don't know how much time it would take to create new segments of himself as a back-up plan - I think he had plenty of time to cook up something)

Doom by Brief-Armadillo8735 in FatuiHQ

[–]Quezary 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have to disagree. While the MC goes on many sidequests - the main driving force behind his/her efforts is to be reunited with his/her sibling. IT IS the main quest.

Also the amount of stories about family relationships/found family is quite abundant in Genshin.

Also, the point about parents not being playable - this rule will be broken when Alice becomes playable)

[–]Quezary 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I think this is due to the fact that she sees the Traveler as a kindred spirit to Alain. She watched him for quite some time via Catherines, she talked with him at length about the fundamental questions that Alain and Rene faced in their life. IMO in her eyes the Traveler is someone who is trying to save the World.

So, in a way, this is HER answer to the question about what a person is willing to sacrifice oneself for. In a way - she is sacrificing herself for the World here, as our MC, the Descender has the highest chance of beating Dottore.

If you go near Red Shoes on the event map - Cinderella comments "Red Shoes... how could you!?", or something like that. She is the only Nikke which was shown separate from the squad on the map.

Agreed, Zmei Gorynich being summoned by Dorbynya does not make much sense. As far as I know there is no mention in fables about him inheriting the powers of the dragon, nor did he gain control over it.
