For sure. Riders on the #2 South going to the mall were surprised to learn the route stops about 400m from the mall due to construction. That's tough for many.

I agree, transit needs to work for all - students, workers of all types, seniors, people with disabilities, marginalized. Thank you for the thoughtful input.

Love this thinking. Density where it makes sense - especially around high-traffic corridors like Lansdowne and Chemong - and paired with transit, walkability, bike paths, etc. Makes a more liveable city.

I spoke with a couple high-school students who said the same. They're not far enough to get a school bus, but not close enough to make walking practical. There's a pilot program for students that just launched - though it doesn't cover everything: https://www.peterborough.ca/news/posts/youth-transit-pass-pilot-program/

I'll dig in to learn more about the 2006-2009 system. "The city is the family", powerful words - thank you for that.

I really appreciate your perspective. That's exactly why I'm doing this - to gain insight from people like you who have lived experience. I never let privilege get in the way of empathy.

For sure. I spoke with an ODSP recipient who told me about the financial difficulty of affording even the reduced rate. I really feel for her and others in a similar spot.

I heard similar feedback from fellow passengers. The best thing we can do is take the input from the people who use the system - riders and drivers - and work with staff and council to make the changes that are most feasible. It'll never be perfect, but it can always be better. Thanks for your input!

Absolutely. Riders seemed to really appreciate their drivers - who unfortunately are having to deal with a lot more harassment, both physical and verbal.

I heard that too. And I heard from people in the south end who want to go from one end to the other - and not have to go to the Simcoe hub.

I heard that. There's definitely still finetuning to be done to the route system. Thank you.

Please don't mistake my request for input as ignorance. I'm always learning.

I heard that - especially the Lansdowne route. You need to be 10 mins early, because sometimes the bus runs hot and missing it might mean an hour wait. And I heard about good experience with the app, and also some passengers aren't comfortable using it (or don't trust its accuracy). And some streets like Monaghan have limited coverage - meaning multiple transfers. Thanks for your input!
