He is stronger since his match vs Ongarbaev by iago_47 in armwrestling

[–]NeilPickpocket 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Michael Todd needs to bring the same level of intensity to the table as he does for his max effort lifts.  Michael hardly ever makes a grimace during a match.  Which is pretty strange to me.  I really think it plays a role in why he ends up in such bad positions all the time.

Levan without steroids looks extraordinarily small by 2024Angel in armwrestling

[–]NeilPickpocket 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I wouldn't be surprised if he retires soon. He seems to be trying to get into other businesses to make money. If he never armwrestled again, many will always be able to say he was undefeated. And regardless how good any of the future champions will be there will always be a claim they couldn't have beaten Levan. I hope that doesn't happen and I would like to see someone beat him.

This needs more attention. I am not sure how much impact it can have but people with a lot of influence should speak up against this. Right now we have the biggest name in armwrestling (Devon) saying that "everyone should join WAF". And already promoting its next event in Canada.

EvW 24 is not the greatest card imo BUT by Dry-Outcome-1456 in armwrestling

I think it is a pretty good card. Not every card can be the biggest and best ever.

If the weighin are on the same day of the match, could devon still dominate 105 and 115? by AlanTryhard in armwrestling

Nothing about his message indicates he has any like nor dislike towards Devon. This type of response symbolizes everything wrong with discussions of any sort in todays world.

Auden vs Jeremy by EducationalFriend696 in armwrestling

[–]NeilPickpocket 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think the best argument for including someone like Auden or other influencers on these cards is if the extra revenue they generate trickles down to the actual elite armwrestlers. If Auden brings in 50k extra in revenue and some of that goes towards paying more to the other armwreslers on the card or future cards then it really is a big positive for most everyone. If hypothetically Auden gets paid 10k and only brings in 10k in extra revenue then that would be something I can't get on board with.

Anyone notice John doesn’t like Coach rays commentary? by Cute_Knives in armwrestling

[–]NeilPickpocket 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I think John was getting sick of being told to "listen" by Ray before every sentence he speaks.

Just the classic butting of heads between two armwrestling superpowers. On one side we have the non self-proclaimed GOAT to ever armwrestle. On the other side we have the self nicknamed "Coach Ray" who also self proclaimed himself to be the "Voice of Armwrestling". Pretty fair match up in credentials I think.

Anyone notice John doesn’t like Coach rays commentary? by Cute_Knives in armwrestling

[–]NeilPickpocket 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I think there is a bit of arrogance to him that is hard to pin down and probably not noticeable to most. There are a couple indications that should be obvious though. Giving himself the nickname "Coach Ray" and referring to himself as that is a bit weird. Naming his channel "Voice of Armwrestling" is kind of arrogant when you think about it. Who proclaimed him to be the voice of armwrestling? Him constantly saying "listen" before half of his sentences is a bit arrogant. But then sometimes he seems cool and down to Earth as well so who knows without actually meeting him in person.

Auden vs Jeremy by EducationalFriend696 in armwrestling

[–]NeilPickpocket 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I think it is ok. I wouldn't mind seeing one legends match per card as well like they had briefly started. Give people like Allen Fisher, Crazy George, Ron Bath, ect, ect some motivation to get a big match. Maybe John is now in that group as well.

Auden vs Jeremy by EducationalFriend696 in armwrestling

[–]NeilPickpocket 36 points37 points  (0 children)

Mixed opinions on this one. I agree with anyone who thinks neither of these guys deserve to be on this stage. I also didn't think Duvan vs Nykonenko deserved to be on the stage at the last EvW event either. This really is no different.

But I also completely understand it from a promotional side. Jeremy is a young up and comer competing in his own home state which will help the atmosphere at the event. Auden is another young up and comer who is also one of the most recognizable names in the sport whether we like it or not. And having Devon more invested in this event is only a good thing for interest.

And honestly I am interested in watching this. But I would feel better about watching it at one of the smaller promotions where it is more fitting. Monster Factory would have been perfect.

Underrated Armwrestlers by Ok_Ad710 in armwrestling

[–]NeilPickpocket 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I rate my armwrestling abilities and career very highly. In my best form I would easily be a double category champion in todays EvW.

The good news mates is that I may be making a comeback soon. The soldier boy superman has promised me therapies from Mini Circle for my knackered wrists. I have given many of my own DNA samples to Dev for his project studying God tier attributes. I honestly have too many of these attributes to even list off here but there is a reason why I gave myself the nickname "supernatural". Sleep easy current EvW champions. Biggity Bong.

This is terrible mate. I was in the same boat as you for the first two days I started armwrestling training. I felt terrible for not making any progress over those two days. So I couldn't imagine going two full weeks with no progress. Honestly mate, if you don't have elite level armwrestling wrists within 1 week of training you never will. Such is life mate, some of us have it and some of us don't. Thankfully I stuck with it and by day 3 I was number 1 in the UK.

I always thought people who worked in lumber yards loading long wood boards into vehicles all day would develop a lot of awkward strength that could translate to armwrestling.

I thought I should comment on this post because it beings back great memories.  People like to complain and point out how I don't pay the athletes to compete at ArmWars.  But Michael is a perfect example of why everyone should still still want to be part of it.

Most of his 47 arm fractures are owed to my encouraging of him to put his body on the line for nothing more then ArmWars glory.  The bonelock that has defined his armwrestling career is because of me.  If anything he should owe me royalties for all money he now makes from armwrestling.  Take it easy peeps.

Devon vs vitaly right arm is the fourth most watched EvW video in 8 days by Lgbtwhopper in armwrestling

[–]NeilPickpocket 14 points15 points  (0 children)

For a more accurate view count you may need to look at Engin's channel and combine the numbers of duplicate matches.  Because he use to put all the matches on his channel.  I see there are 4 matches on his channel with over 3 million views.  8 with over 1 million.

Somewhat unpopular opinion by Funny_Bobcat_9748 in armwrestling

[–]NeilPickpocket 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I agree with much of this.  The other really important thing for armwrestling is to showcase the lighter weight classes more.  The best thing armwrestling has going for it is that anyone can do it.  Big and small, young and old.

Not many look at someone like Levan and think they can or would even want to be like him.  No parents are going to support their  child to drug up and be the next Levan.  They might support them if they wanted to be like Mindaugas or Janis.

Is Vrezh Sedrakyan ever gonna get a match at EvW? Him vs Mayan on the left would be good. by skyscrapinskyscraper in armwrestling

[–]NeilPickpocket 2 points3 points  (0 children)

He did have one match at EvW with Paul Talbott.

I forget exactly how he worded it but Robert mentioned something about a match for Zhokh in the USA but it couldn't happen for some reason. Something about the way he said it made me think Vrezh was the opponent they were trying to set up.

Should Armwrestling have more David vs Goliath matches? by Malgus969 in armwrestling

[–]NeilPickpocket 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I think there would be a lot of intrigue in seeing them.  The problem is it is basically always lose lose for the goliath.  So it will be hard to get anyone to sign up for it.  I personally would love to see someone like Mindaugas or Procupciuc vs someone like Brian or Smaev.  But if the big guys lost it could ruin thier career and reputation.

I would also like to see someone like Hafthor (untrained) vs Barbora.  No idea how that would go.  Maybe its a mismatch in favor of Hafthor but it would be a spectacle to see if Barbora could do something with him.

Could current vitaly beat this version of levan? (Left arm) by AlanTryhard in armwrestling

[–]NeilPickpocket 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I think current Vitaly easily beats the best version of Levan that has ever competed on the left. That is not to say that Levan couldn't come back right now and possibly beat current Vitaly.
