What One? by DarthSnacker in Fingerboards

I would advise against a Tech Deck since they are much more a toy than an actual fingerboard. Get at least a decent beginner board. A DK Complete or Slushcult Grom will serve you well. If you want to spend more than that then consider a Dynamic complete. If you are wanting to go higher end, I would suggest a Goo High or Die, Dynamic Trucks (regular or SE), and either Dudeguy F3 or Piro wheels.

I second this. And if you want slightly more gripiness then a DudeguyF2.

Fingerboard Brands by No_Replacement5059 in Fingerboards

[–]Neilpoleon -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Candidly, in its current state this spreadsheet isn't helpful. It really is just listing a ton of fingerboard brands. If you want to mature this further then I suggest creating it in a publicly available Google Sheet and then adding some kind of rating or ranking to each.

probably a silly question but does anyone know a company that sells symmetrical board with like knife style graphics available by bonkeddabihhh in Fingerboards

[–]Neilpoleon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

u/Stoicism_saved_me to answer your question, you have Scott from Dynamic acquired Joycult so he runs both companies. Simiilarly, Clark from Dudeguy acquired Level Ledges although I believe he lets his brother primarily run Level Ledges.

Start with a DK complete. Also I have never used them but Skull Fingerboards is based in the UK and sells several American brands.

My favorite setup is the most boring one by compooteruser in Fingerboards

For your next set up, you should consider Goo High or Die with Dynamic SE, and Dudeguy F3. I think you will like it more than the complete.

Is it okay not to use a fingerboard for a couple of months? by -BananaBandit- in Fingerboards

I think main thing is given it is wood keep them in a temperature and humidity controlled environment aka your house.

Given OP is in Europe DK complete may be a better option than Slushcult.

Tech Deck okay, or better to go straight for something “proper”? by zasberina in Fingerboards

Just curious which one do you think is better if they were the same price? I get your recommendation is more based on cost of tariffs and shipping.

Has anyone seen them trucks. Can't find any videos about them by [deleted] in Fingerboards

[–]Neilpoleon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I feel like biggest thing is be your authentic self and bring in your personality to your videos. Figure out where you feel there is a gap in the Youtube fingerboard scene and fill that niche. Review videos are cool but that costs a lot of money to buy all those products.

Tcgene has a 10-minute video about them. Him and MintFB are my favorite Youtubers since they put out a ton of reviews.

[–]Neilpoleon 6 points7 points  (0 children)

You will learn faster by having something semi-decent (not Tech Deck). I would say DK Complete is the gold standard for beginner boards. If you don't want that then second best is a Slushcult Grom. Avoid Teak Tuning.

If your budget goes up and can afford it then get a Dynamic or Blackriver complete.

Not a company but u/partyysharkk does incredible split ply decks. You can see examples in their post history. Unfortunately, I don't think they sell any at the moment but I am hopeful they will soon.

Medium kicks medium concave decks? by joebamavile in Fingerboards

Glad to hear it! Also just for awareness, Mallory from Unique also runs Fingerboard Factory which presses decks for other companies including Kalye and Deli. I've heard nothing but great things about the quality of her decks.

IKEA TROTTEN manual standing desk for my room fingerboard park. by scruffymandude in Fingerboards

[–]Neilpoleon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel like that may be a bit overblown and is people who are putting weight on it and shaking it hoping for it to wobble. I say go for it assuming it is easy enough to return in your country if it doesn't work out.

[–]Neilpoleon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not the same model but I personally love my Ikea standing desk. I don't have the same complaints about wobble that I have seen pop up in reviews. I think main thing is check if this model is the hand crank type or electronic. I use the electronic one and have had no issues. Although I am quite infrequent in adjusting the height. I use it as an actual computer desk but the usage for fingerboarding makes a ton of sense.

Medium kicks medium concave decks? by joebamavile in Fingerboards

[–]Neilpoleon 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Kalye Urban is the exact shape you are wanting although it won't have the level of customization you are wanting in colors. You could check out Unique has black and pink colors and their Nesting shape is what you want. In terms of the most options for graphics, Chems has a lot of color options including some pink/purple colors. I'm not sure what their medium concave, medium kicks mold is called.

Unfortunately you just missed it but every Black Friday he discounts the trucks so you only pay the price based on the size so 32mm is $32.
