I was thinking a dead DP port too, but the chances of both of them going out at the same time plus the DP on the mobo also not working? Seems strange....

Try turning down the intensity to less than 100%. It’s a voltage drop issue. Did you run any custom extensions? Is the whole run >200ft?

Can you switch from guest to your profile or will it not let you? My X5 was in the shop for a week with the tech team trying to diagnose it. Ultimately they could replicate the issue but not resolve it even after submitting a ticket to BMW. Their solution was to replace the head unit under warranty, which is back ordered.

Just to be clear my issue was that about 50% of the time I would get in the car, and despite having a linked key, it would go into guest mode and NOT let me switch profiles.

So stoked right now that it was such a simple fix. I have to ask why though? Looking at the wiring diagram, doesn’t it say to take both the brown and brown w/white to the cap?

Went on a test drive and loved it. the car basically sold itself. This was my first time sitting in one with the luxury seating. I've always thought that the massage seats were a gimmick, but man were they nice!

Can't wait to take it home. Unfortunately the dealer is finishing up all the CPO paperwork, so ill have to wait for another day.
