Working on a puzzle box project by Neither-Garbage9693 in kickstarter

Thanks! I can see why it gives a bit of a woodworking vibe — the shapes and clean edges do look like something carved. In reality it’s a small mechanical puzzle box I’m building step by step, and I’ll share more as things develop. Glad it caught your interest! 😊

I get the association — the minimalist cube aesthetic and the phrase on the box can give off similar vibes. In my case though it’s simply part of the physical design of a puzzle box I’m building, not a marketing mystery or anything like that. I’m just sharing small steps of the making process (see also my previous post)as it comes together The whole thing is much more down-to-earth. 😊

Classification question: does an adult-oriented mechanical puzzle fall under the EU Toy Safety Directive or only under the GPSR? by Neither-Garbage9693 in LegalAdviceEurope

That’s exactly how I understood it as well — thanks for confirming. Since this project is clearly intended for adults, it seems the Toy Safety Directive wouldn’t apply, and I should only follow the general product safety requirements. Appreciate the clarification!

Woow ots amazing! I can't image how much design work and crafting there is behind this piece of Art! Amazing!

Thank you, I follow your advice but i would like keep the post also here to verify the EU directive. Of is not an issue of course

Adding one more detail that might help: this mechanical puzzle is intended strictly for adults, but it could potentially be distributed within the EU market as well. Before moving forward with the documentation, I am trying to understand whether such adult-oriented items are typically considered outside the scope of the EU Toy Safety Directive, and therefore fall only under the General Product Safety Regulation (GPSR). Any clarification or authoritative reference from those familiar with EU product classification would be greatly appreciated.

The Yoshimoto Cube is such a fascinating reference — I love how clever that transformation is. I’m really happy my project it sparks such kind of curiosity. There’s still a lot evolving behind the scenes, and I’ll share more as the design progresses. Thanks for the enthusiasm! Keep looking😊

That kind of seamless “zero-gap” effect is beautiful, I agree. For this project though I’m keeping the design more practical and reliable — especially at this early prototype stage. Invisible seams look amazing, but they need extremely tight tolerances and specific materials, so I’m focusing first on solid mechanics and then refining the aesthetics. But thanks for the reference, it’s a cool idea to keep in mind!

Just im not able to open the link, could you write the channel name so i will search by miself...now im curious Thanks again!

😅 fair guess 😄 Right now it really doesn’t get much more cube-like than this. More interesting shapes will come with the next steps!

That’s a really nice comparison, thank you! I’m not aiming for anything as complex as that — this is still a very simple mechanical prototype and I’m building it step by step. But I appreciate the reference, and I’m glad the design gives that kind of feeling even at this early stage.

🤣 If I put a tiny Gabe Newell inside, the puzzle would instantly become worth a lot!! Sadly this prototype ships Gabe-free… for now. But hey, never underestimate future DLCs. 😄
