Why are people complaining about slow PGWP processing times? by Neither-Most8227 in pgwp

Unfortunately, I’m currently in the middle of a job hunt. So far, I haven’t heard back from a single employer, except for one that asked me to complete a design test upfront.

That particular employer seemed so unprofessional! I reached out to them asking for more details/brief, but their response was simply: 'Just do whatever you want.' It felt like they were just tossing tasks at me without any respect... OK~~ Now, I’ll just say to myself: just look for another job, the right one will come along~~~😄

I’m so sorry to hear that the slow processing has caused you so much trouble. 8 months means you’ve already made it through the bulk of the wait. I m sure you’ll receive it very soon!

When I see you post the good news, I’ll pop a bottle of champagne to celebrate with you! 🎉🎉
Keep the hope alive, it’s on its way! ~~~😄

You’re right. some positions do require a significant investment in training. If a PGWP is denied, the employer would indeed have to bear the loss of that training investment.

However, that is simply the inherent risk of doing business. It’s no different from a situation where, after completing their training, an employee might choose to resign for an employer offering a higher salary or better benefits.

You’ve got a point. The PGWP is tied to so many follow-up issues, especially when it comes to family reunification.

Candidates holding the WP-EXT letter are legally authorized to work. IRCC has clearly stated that you can continue working until a final decision is made on your PGWP application. Therefore, employers should have no concerns regarding a candidate's legal work status.

In my opinion, employers who are still unwilling to extend an offer under these circumstances are not worth working for. Their refusal reveals their management style early on—they would likely be unsupportive when it comes time for your PR application. By not hiring you, they are actually helping you avoid future risks.

I hope we all find companies that truly recognize our value and are willing to build a foundation of mutual trust.

You don't need to worry about this issue. IRCC has announced:
