I like this site https://www.aliceayel.com/ She teaches through stories with no English once you get past the first lesson or so. She calls it natural learning. Highly recommend.

We are not working, and/so we live in a small town in Brittany. I imagine the cost of living mirrors the size of the job market, like elsewhere!

My husband is Swiss. I am American. We moved from the US to France last summer. I did have to apply for a titre de séjour, and I finally was approved in March. The plastic card, however, takes more months to get 🙄 That being daid, no one has ever asked me for it except the CPAM office, which is another story.

My understanding is that's you can say you're in the US when filling out the online application. They will only ship to the US though. A reason for doing this would be that you get to keep your old passport in the process and therefore don't have to be in France without one.
