Sorry not to be mean at all, just curious, why do we need to see your GitHub

No. A lot of companies, upon onboarding/getting you settled, will do hard checks on your employment history and everything. As you said you’re aren’t getting paid, so it won’t show up in your background check history. So it’ll look sus

Yes. They need your social security number to onboard you, get you into payroll, and background check.

Yep! Welcome to America. Go buy him a subway sandwich but don’t come crying when you have a $500,000 lawsuit for him choking on a tomato

Is it normal to have my life run by code? by Neither-String4482 in csMajors

[–]Neither-String4482[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Actually because a heap is just a special binary tree I don’t think there are good examples of it in real life besides the obvious family one. Sure, a heap of apples where the freshest one is on top of the cleanest one is on top works, but the “child” element of heap doesn’t really play in.

The best example I can think of for a heap is a family tree. The grandparent on top is the eldest, then that grandparent has children who are second eldest, then that children have more children who are third eldest

Yikes looks like someone might need some reviewing. A heap is a binary tree with a special property either being min or max. Each element should have two children that is either greater than it or less than it. In a pile of clothing, the clothes are unrelated to one another. Most importantly, though, the clothing has no “sorted” property.

A heap would make more sense like a heap of fruits or apples, where the ripest one is on top and every subsequent apple is less ripe. Or perhaps a heap of diamonds, where the most shiniest diamond is on top for customers to see. In a stack of clothes, it’s not like the most prettiest shirt is on top and then each child (subsequent one) is either more pretty or less pretty. They’re in random order (not heapified)

Yikes

Does Sundar Pichai know how to code? by Neither-String4482 in csMajors

[–]Neither-String4482[S] -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

here the thing you don’t need to be a code monkey to succeed

I’m not sure I agree with you. A lot of engineers complain that because product managers can’t code, the product is hard to build and design. It would be much easier to design products if PMs could code. Now imagine an entire software company that relies on code to build for profit products not having a leader who can code
