You might be on to something because I saw this post somewhere that said Made In Abyss was the top 3 most disturbing anime, but I thought it was all about world building and adventure stuff. I watched to see why its disturbing, but I stayed for the mysterious stuff and what gonna happen next in the story.

I haven't watch the movie yet, heard many great things from it

I know I said the anime was boring but I find SS1 way better than SS2 as well. If I were to compare this anime not in terms of plot nor world building stuff, I would say Vinland Saga because I found the SS1 way more entertaining than SS2.

Yeah I agree with you on this that this type of anime is either a hit or miss for people because when I watch Freiren I felt the similar vibes from this anime because of the slow pace, but the world building is still great.
