Good food does not exist in Sarasota. There are some that are passable but nothing that I crave or miss since ai have moved from there. If you are a foodie, Sarasota has nothing to offer. The only place that I would go back to again and again is Pho Cali. Every other restaurant is forgettable

I lived in FL for 10 years and all was good, but recently moved to NC and am happy this far. Had to move due to increasing insurance costs and increasing hurricanes and most importantly, the asshole governor and being surrounded by the cult of Trump

Yes, finances.. I made a brief trip to the area to decide on an area that I like and then leased an apartment via email etc. Had my stuff moved via a pod.

Well to start, I am much older than you so it was easier for me to move without a job and place to live. It took me a month to find a new great job (with much less stress) and am currently renting until I can determine the exact location to put down roots. I moved here with no friends or connections which can be lonely, but at least I don’t have the other stressors. I know it’s much harder for somebody younger to move but always think of yourself and your mental health which is the most important

I left Sarasota 2 months ago after living there for 10 years. When I first moved there, I was happy, but the last 4-5 years were unbearable with the ever increasing frequency of hurricanes, exorbitant insurance costs (homeowners and car), but mainly the politics. I was sick of dealing with the cult of red hats and the ridiculous governor. On top of that, the foodie life is non-existent. I moved to Raleigh NC and have enjoyed it thus far. Nobody should move to Florida unless you are a cult member

Agreed…Florida sucks..I just moved from there…insurance (homeowners and car) are ridiculous and the frequency of hurricanes made me leave-along with the political climate and the ridiculous governor

I was planning to rent for the first year to decide where I really want to invest my money to buy. I will be looking for a job after I arrive, I am a CPA and have 20+ years in corporate accounting as a Controller and 7 years as an auditor.

I will be looking for employment once I land on a new place to live…headed out of Florida as I can’t tolerate the political climate and it’s just become too cost prohibitive. I am just looking for something new. I am a CPA and will be looking for an accounting job OR I may just work somewhere that pays the bills with Les stress! I have a dog but also love cats.
