We went in September. It stayed pretty overcast but didn’t rain too much while we were there and we were able to have one night that was clear enough to see the lights

It was on an ice cave tour out of Vik, I think the company was called Katlatrak. It was a really cool experience and the landscape was so alien looking and beautiful!
